PROGRAM DESIGN

I. Title: Upgrading of MDRRMO Training Equipment

II. Rationale:

Annual Evaluation for Gawad KALASAG (Kalamidad Laban sa Sakuna Sariling Galing ang
kailingan) is conducted in various categories to assess accomplishments and best practices in
Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.

Republic Act 10121 otherwise known as the “Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
Act of 2010” mandates all levels of government to develop, promote and implement Disaster Risk
Reduction and Management plan that aims to strengthen the capacity of the National and Local
Government units together with partner stakeholders to build disaster resilience of communities
within the context of poverty alleviation and environmental protection and mainstreaming Disaster
Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaption and Mitigation in development processes and policy
formulation.

The Provincial, City, Municipal and Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils
were organized as the implementation arms of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Council and to be at the frontlines in responding to any type of disaster or emergency.

III. Objectives:
1. To provide MDDRM Office personnel with equipment necessary during conduct of Trainings
and Seminars to Barangays and other related IEC activities.
2. To provide MDDRM Council sound system during conduct of Meetings and other DRRM-
related events.

IV. Methodology:
1. Procurement of Office Equipment – Portable Stereo and Sound System with microphones

V. Expected Output:
1. Provided MDRRMO Portable Sound System for conduct of Council meetings, field trainings,
seminars and Information Dissemination Campaigns. .

- Microphone Stand (Big and small) 2,500.00
- Table Microphone/Mic Podium 4,000.00

VII. Source of Fund – Sarangani Provincial Gawad Kalasag Prize (Php 25,000.00)
