What is the difference between KFF ( key flexfield) and DFF (Descriptive Flex
field) ?

Ans:
a) Key Flexfield is used to describe unique identifiers that will have a better
meaning than using number IDs. e.g a part number, a cost centre etc
b) Desc Flex is used to just capture extra information.
c) Key Flexfields have qualifiers whereas Desc Flexfields do not.
d) Desc Flexfields can have context sensitive segments while Key flexfields cannot
e) KFF is based on 2 table structure where as DFF is based on a single table
structure

2. Which KFFs need to be defined in order to define a business group ?


Ans: Job , Position , Grade, Cost Allocation, People Group, Competence

3. What are flexfield qualifiers?


Ans: flexfield qualifier identifies a particular segment of a key flexfield. You
can think of a flexfield qualifier as an �identification tag� for a segment.

4. What is the difference between Jobs and positions?


Ans: Jobs are generic title across business group, positions are descriptions of
jobs across organization e.g job is Sr Manager, and position is Sr Manager.Finance

5. What are EITs (Extra Information Types)?


Ans: Extra Information Types in Oracle HRMS are a kind of descriptive flexfield.
They allow you to set up unlimited amounts of extra information for six of the most
important entities in HRMS :
� Locations
� Organizations
� Jobs
� Positions
� People
� Assignments

6. What is the difference between EIT and SIT ( Special information types) ?
Ans:
a) SIT's are Key Flexfields vs EIT's are a type of Descriptive Flexfield
b) SIT's are primarily attached to people.They can also be used with
Jobs,Positions.

EIT's can be attached to People, Assignment, Job, Position, Location and
Organization.
c) The SIT form has a start date and end date associated with the SIT row

The EIT forms do not have start and end dates.
d) EIT's have an extended security option that lets you define access to all EIT's
at the level of a Responsibility.vs SITs doesn't have any such option.

7. What is the significance of 5 dates in Termination screen : Notified date ,


projected date, actual termination date, last standard process date and final
process date ?
Ans: Notified date - The date employee desired to resign
Projected date - Notified date + notice period
Actual termination date - The date the employee terminated
Last standard process date - The next standard payroll date
final process date - The last date till which the employee can be paid using
oracle payroll.

8. What are the steps followed to rehire a terminated employee?


Ans:
a) Check if the final process date is populated for the employee, Final process
date < Rehire date
b) Open People form -> select create employee in actions -> save record
c) enter assignment details and save the record.

9. At which levels a security profile can be defined?


Ans: The security profile can be defined at following levels:
a) Oraginzation
b) position
c) Payroll
d) Supervisor
e) custom

10. Do you have knowledge of backend tables ? If yes provide some table names.
Ans:
a) per_all_people_f
b) per_all_assignments_f
