Hook Size: G6 (4.00mm) or size needed to


obtain gauge
Gauge: 4 hdc x 3 rows = 1”

Yarn: Any worsted weight yarn. (I used


Caron Simply Soft in the photos.)

Stitches Used (US terms):


Hdc – half double crochet
Dc – double crochet
Picot stitch – chain 3 stitches, slip stitch back into first chain made (slip
back into the back side of the chain, not the “V”)
A note on sizing: this is sized to fit a kitten’s head over both ears or cocked to the side
over one ear on an adult cat.

Directions:
1 - Chain 40 stitches.
2 - Join to work in round. Chain 2, hdc in each stitch until reach end of round, slip stitch
into second stitch of your initial chain to join round. (40 st)
3 - Chain 2, hdc in each stitch until reach end of round, slip stitch into second stitch of
your initial chain to join round. (40 st)
4 - Chain 2, hdc in each stitch until reach end of round, slip stitch into second stitch of
your initial chain to join round. (40 st)
5 – Chain 2, *skip two stitches, 3 dc into next stitch (that’s the third stitch from the
beginning), picot stitch, 3 dc into the same stitch where you made the first 3 dc. Slip
stitch into two stitches past the stitch where you made all the dcs.* Repeat from ** to
end.

Bind off, weave in ends, and voila! Your kitty crown is ready J
