INSTRUCTIONS

Examines the effects of globalization on different economic and socio-political issues,

ACHIEVEMENT
and the confrontation for reaching development and democracy.

PURPOSE
To organize an oral presentation after analyzing the most important information about the
challenges of development.

WARM-UP What are the differences between developed and underdeveloped countries?
The teacher will ask the question above and students will brainstorm ideas or previous
conceptions they have about those two categories.

1. First, the teacher will share a Google Slide Presentation and mention what activities will
be developed during the class.
2. Next, the teacher will start with today’s topic: Challenges of Development.
DEVELOPMENT To do so, the teacher will share a Google Slide Presentation about Challenges
Development.
3. After that, the teacher will ask the class to make groups of 5 students. Then, he/she will
hand out paper sheets with information from the presentation.
4. Finally, students will analyze the information previously given and working in groups
they will organize an oral presentation for next class about the assigned material.

FINAL PRODUCTION 1. Students’ participation and interactions during the class.

2. Analysis and organization for the oral presentation.

ASSESSMENT ● The students will be able to know the differences between developed and
CRITERIA underdeveloped countries.
● Speaking Criteria: fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, communicative ability.
● Teamwork.
