Lack of Education as a Peace Issue

Education, as we all know, is the most critical aspect of life, as it shapes our
future. Unemployment and poverty are the results of a lack of education. As a
result of poverty and unemployment, individuals are compelled to commit acts
of violence, undermining a society's peace. For various reasons, individuals who
are not sufficiently educated about a situation tend to ally with the wrong path,
which results in violence or war. Additionally, in some areas, children as young
as six years old become rebels or terrorists, pickpocketers, and engage in other
forms of crime due to their inability to attend school, and their only means
of obtaining a living is through this. Education is critical in shaping our
character, abilities, and future. Additionally, peace education is a critical
component of averting armed conflict and violence and thereby
saving lives. Likewise, it is critical for us to have the awareness, skills,
and abilities necessary to better address and manage conflict in our
communities, as well as advocate for social justice.
