MBBR PACK
3 Functional description
MBBR PACK is a package solution for Moving
M Bed Biofilm Reactor technology.. Depending on the process and on the flow
rate to treat, it’ss possible to use and combine more than one unit and different arrangements.
arrangement The P&ID’s and Lay out’s
for each typical arrangement are shown at the end of this technical report.

3.1 Process liquids

The liquid comes to the top of the tank (battery limit BL01) and it flows through 2 reactors in series.
series At the end of each
reactor a dedicated sieve lets flow the waste water keeping
keep the media within the process volume. The system is
monitored by the level sensors LSH and LSL. The client will collect the effluent at the over flow battery limit BL02.

3.2 Aerobic system

For AE-AE and AN-AE AE arrangements, thet standard tank is equipped with suitable diffusers that allow an equal air
distribution as per process requirements.
requirements A blower is installed in order to supply the air through the mentioned
distribution system; this air blower flow rate is automatically controlled by VFD (variable frequency drive) according to
the dissolved oxygen concentration in the water.

3.3 Anaerobic system

For AN-AE and AN-AN arrangements, where denitrification is needed, the standard tank is equipped with vertical mixers
in order to guarantee good mixing of the media in the whole reactor.

4 Modular configuration
In case of higher flow rates or organic loads,
load several packages can be installed in parallel as detailed in the table below.

10 Installation requirements
The package has to be installed on a suitable support according to the weights listed in section 8. It can be installed and
operated outdoor if the temperatures are within the limits indicated in section 9. The electrical
electric power to the automation
panel is in customer’s
’s scope of supply (BL03 in the P&ID) as well as the way to feed the package by pump or by gravity
(BL01 in figure 1). The total maximum absorbed power is indicated in section 2: these values
value have to be used for cable
dimensioning and for upstream protection system of the unit.
