Dr. R. Gangai Selvi, M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Statistics at Tamil
Nadu Agricultural University is a young and energetic PG teacher and Guide also Advisory
committee member in Statistics handling statistics courses for under graduate, post graduate of
Master and Doctoral students and guiding research scholars during the last 13 years. She holds
B.Sc., M.Sc., in Statistics with distinction at PSG College of Arts and Science, Bharathiyar
University, Coimbatore, M.Phil., in Statistics at Bharathidasan University, Trichy and Ph.D., in
Econometrics with specialization of Spatial Econometrics at Tamil Nadu Agricultural
University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
She has undergone a Trainers Training on Data Analysis using SAS software at
NAARM, Hyderabad also Winter school at IASRI, New Delhi. She has organized and
conducted 7 Training programmes on Data Analysis using SAS and SPSS for the benefit of
TNAU scientists. Also she served as a resource person for the training programmes. She has
actively participated in the various trainings, conferences, seminars, workshops and symposia.
She is an author of the text book Applied Statistics published by Kalyani Publishers, Ludhiana
which is very much useful for the preparation of ICAR competitive Exams. On her credit two
books and more than 30 practical manuals for under graduate, post graduate of Master and
Doctoral students pursuing statistics courses. Also as a Referee in Mysore Journal of Agricultural
Sciences, University of Agricultural Sciences, Communication Centre, GKVK, Bengaluru. Also
an External Examiner in Statistics for various SAU’s like KAU, PAU, TANUVAS and
Vivekananda University. As a Life Member in Indian Society of Agricultural Statistics (ISAS),
Indian Society of Probability and Statistics (ISPS) and International Indian Statistical
Association (IISA).
