Instructions to Change Filter Material for LCPW

1. Turn gas supply to glovebox off.

2. Turn glovebox power off.

3. Remove shroud.

4. Locate the filter column on glovebox.


5. Remove electro-pneumatic valve by
loosening and removing both wing nut
clamps and small 1/8” gas line.

6. Remove screened KF40 O-ring.

NOTE: You should be able to visually


see the filter material.

7. Take a shop vac and suck out the old


filter material.

CAUTION: Filter material will contain


hazardous materials. Please be sure
to wear personal protective
equipment (PPE).
8. Using a flash light look down open
KF40 flange to make sure all filter
material has been removed.

9. Using a funnel pour in one (1) bag of


molecular sieve (FM-015);
approximately 3.0 lbs.

NOTE: Molecular sieve should be off-


white in color.
10. Pour in one (1) bag of copper catalyst
(FM-002); approximately 4.0 lbs.

NOTE: Copper catalyst should be


dark green in color.

11. Pour in one (1) more bag of molecular


sieve (FM-015); approximately 3.0
lbs.

NOTE: Molecular sieve should be off-


white in color.

12. Replace screened O-ring.


13. Replace electro-pneumatic valve and
connect 1/8” gas line.

14. Reattach inlet/outlet connections


using KF40 clamps.

NOTE: Make sure the connections


are level and flat.

IMPORTANT: Make sure KF40


clamps are as tight as possible.

15. Turn on power.

16. Turn on gas supply.

17. Purge glovebox for a minimum of 1.5


hrs or two (2) standard cylinders of
gas.

18. Perform regeneration.

19. After regeneration is complete, run


system in normal mode.
