3 Purpose
The purpose of this document is to describe the configuration procedure for Hydro Multi-E from 2,2 kW and be-
low.

4 Necessary equipment
The following equipment is needed:
1. Grundfos GO version 2.0.7 or newer (Planned release May)
2. PC-Tool E-Products, version 15.00 or later – And updated Configuration files
3. PC-Tool Link adapter

5 Checking the Firmware version
Only firmware version V02.01.00 or newer can be used for configuring a Hydro Multi-E. The firmware version can
be checked on the Motor nameplate or on using PC-tool E-products

5.1 Checking firmware version on the Motor

On the nameplate of the motor the production year and week can be read. Any motor from week 01 2014 (1401)
or later are with Version V02.01.00 or newer and can be used for Multi-E:

If the motor was produced before week 01 2014 it must be updated. The updating procedure is described in “Pro-
cedure for updating existing SaVer motors with new SW versions” which can be downloaded from Insite:

5.2 Checking the firmware using PC-tool E-products.

1. Connect PC-Tool-E products to the Motor via the AYB terminals (genibus).

2. Power on the motor.

3. Select the pump in the “Network list”

4. Go to “Monitor” and “Information” and read out the “software version – front end”

If firmware version is older than V02.01.00 it needs to be updated. The

update procedure is described in “Procedure for updating existing SaVer
motors with new SW version” which can be downloaded from Insite:

“Select site”-> “Global Product Management” -> “Systems” -> “Hydro

Boosters” -> “Hydro Multi-E” -> “Production Documents”.

6 Factory configuration of Hydro Multi-E
The configuration of Hydro Multi-E set consists of the following steps:
5.1 Download Multi-Pump GSC files to the pumps.
5.2 Setup the Multi-Pump system with GO.
5.3 Setup tank size with GO.

6.1 Download Multi-Pump GSC files to the pumps.

5. Connect PC-Tool-E products to the AYB connection of pump number one.

6. Power on pump number one.

7. Select the pump in the “Network list”

8. Go to ”Standard Configuration” select ”number” and type the number according to tabel 1 and press
“search now”.

9. Mark the number under ”configuration files” and press “send”.

10. Stop the pump by pressing the “on/off” button on the pump.

11. Repat step 1-6 for all the pumps in the system.

6.2 Setup the Multi-Pump system with GO.
1. Power the complete system on.
2. Press connect on GO and press the connect button on pump one.

3. When the pump have been initialized on GO, select “Assist”-> “Multi-Pump setup” -> “Cascade”-> “Bus
cable”

4. Press ”Select pump 2” and a list of available pumps occours. By pressing the “wink icon” the pumps can be
identified. Press on a pump in the list to configure it as pump number 2. Continue doing this until all the
pumps in the system have been paired. Press “>” and “Send”.

6.3 Setup tank size with GO.
1. Power the complete system on.
2. Press connect on GO and press the connect button on any of the pumps.
3. When prompted “connect to system or pump”, choose “Pump”.
4. Choose “Settings” -> “Stop Function” -> “Diaphragm tank volume” set the volume according to the
connected tank and press “OK”

How to acquire GO equipment

Hardware:
There are several options that can be used for GO.

MI 301 – Universal bluetooth dongle for Android and Apple devices. PN: 98046408

MI 202 – Dongle with 30-pin connector (Such as iPhone 4) PN: 98046376

MI 204 – Dongle with Lightning connector (Such as iPhone 5) PN: 98424092

MI 204 with iPod touch kit – iPod touch 5th generation with protective cover. PN: 98612711

Unlocking the advanced menu in the application (GENI parameters)

Software:
1. Open the GO application.
2. “Slide” to the right and scroll down and select “settings”.

3. Select “Personal Info” and type in “wei” in the notes field. Reboot the GO app.
4. GO is now unlocked.

How to acquire PC-Tool E-Products, version 15.00 or later
Hardware:
PC-Tool link box is available at this PN: 96705378
Note: it is the same hardware as used for programming Multi-E and MPC earlier.

Software:
Latest version of PC-Tool E-products is available on insite under “groupportal” -> “Toolbox” -> “GTI – Grundfos
technical information” -> “service and support tools” -> “Grundfos PC-tools\ Pc-Tool E products.

The configuration files can be updated by opening PC-tool E-products.

Clicking on tools and clicking “Update configuration files…”

Note: It is required that the PC is connected to Grundfos network to do this.
