TOPIC: ELEMENTS AT-RISK

ACTIVITY 1: THE ELEMENTS OF FIRE

DIRECTIONS: Describe the quality of the exposed element and be able to describe whether it
is vulnerable or not to fire hazards.

Exposed elements Quality of the element Vulnerability to fire hazards

Pile of papers Made with weak and Easily to burn into ashes.
light materials
Steel cabinet Made with strong and It would take long to heated and melt but it is
sturdy metallic not prone to fire.
materials
Plastic cabinet Made with solid but It could liquefy the material and could easily
weak plastic materials damage the ozone layer by its air pollution
from melting.

What makes an element vulnerable to fire?

ACTIVITY 2: TYPHOON ELEMENTS

DIRECTIONS: Describe the quality of the exposed element and be able to describe whether it
is vulnerable or not to typhoon hazards.

Ceiling of nipa hut It is made of weak and It is easily to destroy the

Light materials whole body of the house.
Ceiling of a Made of hard and solid materials Less vulnerable but a flood
concrete house Could reach inside.

When materials built on an element are weak or light loaded materials, it is
clear that it is vulnerable to hazardous occurrences justifying the fact that materials
that are weak and light can easily be damaged due to hazardous circumstances
making that particular element to be vulnerable hence it’s risks from buildup,
however, if the materials are strong, sturdy and hard, there is a huge chance that it
would survive from severe hazards making it to stand still on its own showing its
invulnerability from disasters, but it still depends whether how hard the material is
to be invulnerable to disasters.
