1. Mrs. Kaushik has a square plot wit the measurement as shown in the figure. She wants to construct a
house in the middle of the plot. A garden is development around the house. Find the total cost of
developing a garden around the house at the rate of ₹ 55 per m2.

2. The shape of a garden is rectangle in the middle and semicircular at the ends as shown in the ends as
shown I the diagram. Find the area and the perimeter of this garden. [Length of rectangle is 20- (3.5 +
3.5) metres].

3. The area of a trapezium is 34 cm2 and the length of one of the parallel sides is 10 cm and its height is 4
cm. Find the length of the another parallel side.

4. Find the area of a rhombus whose side is 6 cm and whose altitude is 4 cm. If one of its diagonals is 8 cm
long, Find the length of the other diagonal.

5. Mohan wants to buy a trapezium shaped field. Its sides along the river is parallel to and twice the side
along the road. IF the area of this field is 10,500 m2 and the perpendicular distance between the two
parallel sides is 100 m, find the length of the side along the river.

6. Find the height of a cuboid whose base area is 180 cm2 and volume is 900 cm3.

7. A cuboid is of dimensions 60 cm × 54 cm × 30 cm. How many small cubes with side 6 cm can be placed in
the given cuboid?

8. A milk tank is in the form of cylinder whose radius is 1.5 m and length is 7 m . Find the quantity of milk in
litres that can be stored in the tank.

13. Jane is 6 years older than her younger sister. After 10 years, the sum of their ages will be 50 years. Find
their present ages.

14. The denominator of a fraction is greater than the numerator by 8. If the numerator is increased by 17 and
denominator is decreased by 1, the number obtained is 3/2. Find the fraction.

15. The difference between two positive numbers is 40 and the ratio of these integers is 1 : 3. Find the
integers.

16. Kamala borrowed ₹ 26400 from a bank to buy a scooter at a rate of 15% p.a. compounded yearly. What
amount will she pay at the end of 2 years and 4 month to clear the loan?

17. Vasudeva invested ₹ 60000 on interest at the rate of 12% per annum compounded half yearly. What
amount would he get.

18. Find the amount and the compound interest on ₹ 10000 for 1 year at 10% per annum, compounded half

yearly. Would this interest be more than the interest he would get if it was compounded annually?
19. A milkman sold two of his buffaloes for ₹ 20000 each. On one he made a gain of 5% and on the other a
loss of 10% . Find his overall gain or loss.

20. A scooter was bought at ₹ 42000. Its value depreciated at the rate of 8% per annum. Find its value after
one year.
