After scrutinizing the given picture for a while, I came up with several assumptions as following:

 My initial guess is that this is some kind of annual ceremony to commemorate sacred

beings. However, as I figured out what was being ignited in the picture, I changed my

mind and believed that this might be an event held to protest against poaching or

illegal wildlife trading.

 Scanning through the foreground, it is obvious that these people were setting light to

something shaped like elephant tusks or ivory. There was a heap of these, which I think

might be collected from the black market or caught red-handed in port. This is because,

legally speaking, this large amount of tusks is not supposed to even exist, let alone being

set on fire. Sadly, this picture is concrete evidence that an unimaginable number of

innocent beings had been slaughtered just for luxury.

 Meanwhile, the background does not give me much information about the location where

this event occurred, all I can see is a crowd surrounding the flame and some blurry pointy

tents. Regarding the people in the image, I think most of them are black. Although I

cannot see clearly due to light contrast, some men standing on the left side are visible

enough to tell.
