A DETAILED LESSON PLAN FOR GRADE 2

Verb

I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. define and identify what is verb;
b. understand the use of the verb; and
c. appreciate the importance of the verb to our life.

II. Subject Matter:


Topic: Verb- The action word
Reference: English for You and Me: Reading Language 2 by: Benita N. Miranda
Materials: Visual aid and word puzzle

III. Procedure:

A. Preliminary Activities

“Good morning Class” “Good morning Teacher”

“Let us pray” (One student will lead the prayer)

“Now, take a look at our sentences.”

E. GENERALIZATION

“I have here five sentences, and I want


you to identify first the noun and then tell
me which is the verb.”

Sentences:
Key wants a house.
It was a tiny plant.
The car moves so fast.
Karen plays a guitar.
Piano creates music.

“Read the sentences and let your student


identify the noun and verb.”
(pupil will answer the sentences one by
one)
F. APPLICATION

“Each of you I will give 1 minute to write 1


sentence that shows understanding for our
lesson. Start now.” (pupils will proceed to the given activity)

G. ASSIGNMENT

“Since we are done with our discussion for


today, I will give you a jingle task, to be
performed tomorrow with a maximum of 3 (Yes Teacher)
minutes. By pair, am I clear?”
