GENERAL GUIDELINES

1. The STEM Days 2022 will be held on April 4-8, 2022, with the
theme, “A Wondrous Quest of Unbridled Wit and Competency in
Pursuit of Stronger Union and Excellent Ventures.”

2. There will be six (6) different teams composed of at least two (2)
sections (1 per grade level) that will participate in the said event.
Each team will represent the assigned anime universe that follows:

a. Team 1 - Pirates (One Piece)

b. Team 2 - Ninjas (Naruto)

c. Team 3 - Hunters (Hunter x Hunter)

d. Team 4 - Mages (Fairy Tail)

e. Team 5 - Ghouls (Tokyo Ghoul)

f. Team 6 - Hashiras (Demon Slayer)

3. Teams are required to choose an adjective that will represent their


team for the whole competition.

4. Since the majority of the SHSSC officers are from 12 - Candela, this
section will AUTOMATICALLY be assigned with two Grade 11
sections as their teammates. 

5. Participants must be bonafide students of Batangas State University


– Integrated School Senior High School department.

6. Officers of the Senior High School Student Council are not permitted
to participate in any contests EXCEPT for Mr. and Ms. IS-SHS
2022.

7. The final list of participants per team shall be submitted two weeks
after the release of official event guidelines. Each team shall select
one (1) captain and an assistant captain that will represent their
respective teams.

8. The council will provide a separate Google Drive folder for each
team that will serve as the team’s storage drive for uploading the
necessary files and entries for their respective contests.

9. Teams may start preparing for each event right after completing
their List of Participants. Participants shall be aware of the deadlines
of the entries in each category. 

10. Unauthorized personal meet-ups to prepare for this event are NOT
encouraged. Participants shall stay at home as much as possible.
11. Withdrawals on the same day of the event are NOT encouraged.
Any participant who wishes to withdraw must provide a valid reason
prior to the competition day. Teams must replace the participants
that will back out with the other students that are qualified based on
the given guidelines.  

12. There will be an orientation per contest on February 26, 2022


(tentative) that will be facilitated by the administrators of the
respective events. 

13. Previous Champions (1st Place) of any category (except for the
Team Presentation) in any contest inside or outside the campus in
the past 3 years (2021 to 2019) are NOT allowed to join the same
category, but they are allowed in a different event/category.

14. The contest proper for each category will start immediately upon the
given time by the administrators. Participants must be on the
contest platform 15 minutes or earlier before the event starts.

15. Each team will receive points in each category depending on the
ranks they will garner (see next page for the detailed pointing
system). 

16. In group and individual contests, deduction will be given to the


participant(s) of a respective team who fails to comply or breach the
mentioned guidelines. 

17. Sanctions will be given depending on the weight of their actions as


per the decision of the SHSSC Executive Officers and adviser.

18. There will be a one (1) point deduction for every 30 minutes late
submission in any competition.

19. If a team or a participant is disqualified in any of the competitions;


the team will automatically receive zero (0) points for the
competition. 

20. Event administrators may overrule any of the rules mentioned in the
specific guidelines based on the situation on a case by case basis at
their discretion. The administrator’s decisions are final after the
applied process.

21. In each contest, the decision of the board of judges is final and
irrevocable.

22. At the last day of the event, an awarding ceremony will take place
and an Overall Champion will be hailed based on the scores earned
by the teams in each contest.
23. All participants will receive certificates of participation that will be
sent in their GSuite Account and incentive grants for the subjects
that will be covered in the contest they entered.

24. All winners (1st to 3rd placer) of each contest will be recognized at
the awarding ceremony and will receive certificates of recognition,
higher incentives, and monetary prizes if applicable. 

25. Participating in any of the contests means that all teams and
participants grant the Senior High School Student Council the right
and permission of publication and ownership in their entry materials.

26. After the release of the guidelines, team captains and coordinators
shall sign an acknowledgement that will justify that they read,
agreed, and understood to follow the given guidelines. 

27. Aligned with the previous statement, the Senior High School
Student Council will NOT be liable and affiliated to the outcomes of
every decision and actions of each team and participant.

GUIDELINES

Contest Preparation

1. This is a competition to be participated by bonafide Integrated School -


Senior High School students of Batangas State University.

2. Each team must have three (3) representatives.

3. The Quiz Bee will be held synchronously via Zoom on April 04,
2022 (Monday) from 2:00PM onwards.

4. Contestants are required to download and use Zoom for Desktop.


Zoom for mobile is highly discouraged for monitoring purposes as well
as to avoid restrictions to some features accessible in the desktop
version. 

5. Contestants are also required to install and use the latest version of
Google Chrome. 

6. Contestants are expected to prepare their own preferred scratch


papers, writing materials, and scientific calculators. The use of scratch
papers with any form of writing prior to the quiz bee is strictly
prohibited.

7. Contestants are required to turn on their cameras throughout the


Zoom meeting. The use of any background and/or camera filter is
strictly prohibited. Their face and most of their upper body must be
seen at all times.

8. Contestants are expected to have a stable internet connection in the


entirety of the quiz bee to avoid disconnections. In cases of
disconnection:

a. The remaining contestants shall continue answering the questionnaire


while waiting for their team member to return to the Zoom; and
b. Since the disconnected participant will be unable to open the forms
once they return, they are required to show their hands along with
their upper half body to the camera thereafter to avoid academic
dishonesty.

9. Contestants are required to be in the Zoom meeting thirty (30)


minutes before the actual competition. Contestants can only join
using their respective BatState-U G Suite account.
10. The Zoom meeting link for the quiz bee will be sent one (1) hour
before the contest proper via Email through the contestant’s
respective BatState-U G Suite account.

11. Contestants are not required to wear their uniforms during the contest
but are highly encouraged to wear decent or casual wear. 

12. The reading of guidelines shall be conducted fifteen (15) minutes


before the actual competition. Questions and clarifications regarding
the guidelines will only be entertained during this time. 

Contest Proper

1. The Quiz bee will be held on April 04, 2022 (Monday) at 2:00 PM which
will be monitored via Zoom. 

2. The questionnaire will consist of forty (40) questions and will be


administered through Google Forms and shall be sent via Zoom Chat
on the contest proper.

3. The questions will be formulated by the Senior High School Student


Council and will be verified by the respective subject coordinators of
the Integrated School’s department.

4. Questions may range from but are not limited to multiple choice,
identification, enumeration, fill-in-the-blank, problem solving, and true-
or-false. Questions shall encompass five (5) categories:

5. Each category shall have three (3) easy, three (3) average, and (2)
difficult questions. The points of each question will vary depending on
their difficulty. The points will be as follows:
Easy 2 Points
Average 5 Points
Difficult 8 Points

6. Teams will then be assigned to their respective breakout rooms


where they will be monitored by one (1) officer of the Senior High
School Student Council.

7. Once the Google forms link has been sent via the Zoom chats,
contestants must immediately open the said link. The contestants are
expected to do this within five (5) minutes, therefore it is understood
that each team may start at different times. The questionnaire is only
accessible to the contestants for thirty (30) minutes.

8. The teams will be asked to permit an application to track, monitor, and


take screenshots of their screen while they are answering the
questionnaire to ensure any form of academic dishonesty to be
performed. The contestants must select and share their ENTIRE
WINDOW when asked by the application. Teams who will not permit
this feature shall automatically receive a score of zero (0).

9. Each team’s contestants must start answering the questionnaire


simultaneously. 

10. Contestants are required to turn on their cameras and microphones.


They are expected to talk with each other while in their respective
breakout rooms. I.e strategize, communicate their answers, and have
the usual teamwork like in an actual quiz bee. 

11. Once the teams are done completing their forms, they are expected to
have identical answers on their questionnaires. Otherwise, it will be
marked as incorrect and will not be counted.

12. In order to ensure that any form of academic dishonesty will not occur,
contestants are:

a. PROHIBITED from opening other tabs, windows, or applications


during the competition;
b. PROHIBITED from using other gadgets/devices other than their own
laptop and scientific calculator;
c. PROHIBITED from standing up or leaving their room for the entirety of
the quiz bee; and
d. PROHIBITED from having anyone with them in the room for the
entirety of the contest.

13. Contestants who fail to comply with the rules set in the previous item
shall receive a corresponding sanction as decided and voted on by
the quiz bee administrators.

14. Contestants are highly encouraged to submit their questionnaires five


(5) minutes before the deadline as the questionnaire may or may
not automatically close at the set end time. Failure to submit on or
before April 04, 2022 (Monday) at 2:30 PM - 2:35 PM will result in
zero (0) score.

15. In case of appeals, questions, clarifications, and violent reactions, the


team captain shall click “raise hand” or use the Zoom chat. Only
then will they be allowed to be entertained and be unmuted by the
host.

16. A practice questionnaire will be sent to each contestant through their


respective G Suite account on April 02, 2022 (Saturday), 1:00 PM to
give the contestants a background on how the Quiz bee will be
conducted. Only one (1) practice questionnaire will be given.
17. In instances of a tie, the ranking shall be based on the time taken for
their team to submit their questionnaire. Hence, the team fastest to
submit shall have a higher ranking.

18. The answer key for the questionnaire will be posted on the Senior
High School Student Council’s Facebook Page after the contest
proper.

20. The administrator may overrule any rules mentioned above based on
the situation on a case-by-case basis at their discretion. The
administrator’s decisions are final after the applied process.
