Materials needed:
1. YarnArt Jeans, 55% cotton, 45% acryl, 50g/160m, next
colors:

• for body – yellow № 88


• for hat – lavender № 89
• for ears – white № 01
• for nose – nude № 05
• for covers – yellow № 88 and 35, orange № 85, green
№ 69, pink № 20.

2. Crochet hook 2 mm or 2.25 mm (US: B, UK:14)


3. Fiberfill, thick sewing needle, pins.
4. Piece of cardboard 4 on 4 inch for one gnome’s base.
5. Some semi-wool or acrylic yarn of any thickness for
beard.

If you follow this advice your gnome will be 23 cm (9 inch)

Yarn tip: cotton/acryl or cotton 100%

Abbreviations:
ch – chain stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
trc – treble crochet
dtr – double treble crochet
sl st – slip stitch
inc – increase, 2 sc in the next sc
dec – decrease, single crochet 2 stitches together
(16) – number of stitches in a round
(inc, sc)*N – repeat N times
BLO – back loop only
3dcCL - a cluster of 3 double stitches.
A cluster of stitches, made into the same stitch or chain
space that are joined together at the top.
rev sc - reverse single crochet

1.Body
With yellow yarn.
Start with making a round base. Work
in continuous rounds without sl st.
Rnd 1: 7 sc in the MR

3. Ears
Work in turning rows with white yarn.
Chain 21, start with the 2nd loop from the hook.
Rnd 1: 19 sc, sc 3 times in the last loop, turn the
work clockwise and continue on the other side of the
chains, 19 sc (41)
Rnd 2: ch 1, 19 sc, 3 inc, 19 sc (44)
Rnd 3: ch1, 7sc, 11hdc, (1 dc inc, 1dc)*4, 11hdc, 7sc (48)
Rnd 4: ch 1, 19 sc, (1 inc, 1 sc)*5, 19 sc (53)

Connect the lavender yarn:


Rnd 5: ch 1, 19 sc, (1 inc, 2 sc)*5, 19 sc (58)
Cut off the yarn, leave a long end, sew to the top of hat.

4. Bow
Work in turning rows with yellow yarn.
Part 1. Chain 41, start with the 2nd loop from the hook.
Rnd 1: 40 hdc
Rnd 2-3: ch 1, BLO 40 hdc

Cut off the yarn, sew the ends.
Part 2.
Chain 10, start with the 2nd loop from the hook.
Rnd 1-2: 9 sc
Cut off the yarn, sew the ends around part 1.

5. Dots
With white or orange yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in the MR, go on in continuous rounds without
slip stitches.
Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
Cut off the yarn.
Finish the round in an invisible way: thread the end of
yarn through the needle, skip one stitch and guide the yarn
into the next stitch as shown on the photo.
Insert the needle back in the same stitch where the yarn
end is coming from. Pull the yarn and fasten the obtained
stitch on the wrong side of detail.
Sew the bow and dots to the hat.

6. Arms
Start with the white yarn.
Rnd 1: 8 sc in the MR, go on in
continuous rounds without sl st.
Rnd 2: (inc, 3 sc)*2 (10)
Rnd 3: 10 sc
Rnd 4: 4 sc, 3dcCL, 5 sc (10)
3dcCL - a cluster of 3 double stitches.
Rnd 5: 10 sc
Connect lavender yarn:
Rnd 6: BLO 10 sc
Connect yellow yarn:
Rnd 7-16: sc in each stitch around 10
rounds.
Stuff the bottom part of the arm (hand) with
fiberfill, don’t stuff the top part of the
arm.

Squeeze the hole so that the stitches of


the last round line each other.
Crochet the opposite stitches with 4-5
sc.
Cut off the yarn, leave a long end for
sewing.
Repeat the same for the second arm.

7. Nose
With nude yarn.
Rnd 1: 7 sc in the MR, go on in
continuous rounds without slip
stitches.
Rnd 2: 7 inc (14)

Rnd 5: 28 sc

Stuff with the fiberfill.
Rnd 8: 7 dec (7)
Cut off the yarn, leave a long end. Add
some fiber.
Close the top using a needle.

8. Small carrot
With orange yarn.
Rnd 1: 4 sc in the MR, go on in continuous rounds without
slip stitches.

With green yarn: (Chain 7, sl st in last stitch) repeat 3
times.
Sew to the top of carrot.

Assembly and decoration.


For beard cut the semi-wool yarn, tie a piece of yarn to
the free 9 loops of 28 round.

Attach the arms between 28 and 29 rows of the body.


Attach the nose in the center of the beard.

Put on the hat. The top of arms and nose should be placed
under the hat. Move them the way you like.
Take off the hat, sew the arms and nose to the body.
Put on the hat and attach it to the body with hidden
stitches.

2. Leaf for carrot
With green yarn.
(Chain 10, sl st in last stitch) repeat 5 times.
Sew to the top of carrot. Embroider the detail.

3. Ears for bunny


Start work in turning rows with pink yarn.
Chain 9, start with the 2nd loop from the hook.
Rnd 1: 7 sc, sc 3 times in the last loop, turn the
work clockwise and continue on the other side of the
chain, 7 sc (17)
Connect the white yarn:
Rnd 2: ch 1, 3 sc, 3 hdc, 5 dc inc in next 5 stitches,
3 hdc, 3 sc (22)
Cut off the yarn, leave a long end, sew to the cover.

Embroider the eyes and nose as shown on the photo.

4. Nose for chicken


With orange yarn.
Rnd 1: 4 sc in the MR, go on in continuous rounds without
slip stitches.
Rnd 2: (inc, 1 sc)*2 (6)
Cut off the yarn, sew to the cover. Embroider the eyes,
make the crest.

5. Daffodil
With yellow yarn.
Rnd 1: 10 sc in the MR, sl st
Rnd 2: BLO 10 inc, sl st (20)

Connect the white yarn.
Rnd 3: 2 dc in next stitch, (1 trc, 1 dtr, 1 trc)in next
stitch, 2 dc in next stitch, 1 sl st in next stitch.
It is a first petal.
Repeat else 4 times. Cut off the yarn, hide the end.

Connect the yellow yarn to the free


loops of first round.
Rnd 1-3: 10 sc
Rnd 4: (ch 2, 1 sc in next stitch)*10
Cut off the yarn, hide the end.
Sew to the green cover.
