ROLE OVERVIEW: SNAPSHOT

Within WNS we are continuously working with multiple stakeholders to build successful strategies and
innovative solution for our clients to enable them to be successful in the market place. This requires our
business leadership to focus on making calculated business decisions based on strong customer insights,
competitor understanding and evolving business models.

Thus the role of Business Analyst would align closely with the Business Unit Leader and help senior leadership
in the organization to drive strategic insight into business decision-making. Business analyst is the vital link
between the strategic business plan and deliverables with the different arms of business such as building
synergy, capability and business adaptability, agility, and ability to manage constant change through
innovation and be the keys to success.

The role provides members with a comprehensive business understanding and would provide opportunity for
key strategic contribution through business analytics, financial planning & analysis, review models, project
identification & management, proactive management of business risks, innovative enhancement of financial
health of the business and drive best in class practices & process systems through the business leadership.

Functioning in a liaison capacity, an incumbent combines business-planning analysis and translates the
departments’ business requirements into system deployments and/or business process changes. The role acts
as a change agent to help facilitate effective deployments/modifications to current practices.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The key deliverables of the role would involve:

 The role would involve working closely with the Senior Leader in developing tactical and strategic product,
services and/or programs to support the business unit’s goals (financial, quality, production, customer
service, operational efficiency, market share, etc.).

 Works closely with the BU and its stakeholders to identify and maximize opportunities to use our
capabilities in improving service and/or business processes for our clients.

 Operational and Financial Analysis of the business to drive business financial health, client strategies and
assess opportunity to enhance profitability.

 Consults with process leads within the BU to determine business, functional and technical requirements
for specified service offerings.

 Develops effective reporting tools for the business unit - Driving / Monitoring Key Initiatives in the BU,
Measuring and Monitoring the impact of the key initiatives by working in collaboration with teams.

 Analyzes the Business Unit’s activities and trends and compares analyses against the industry service
standards and best practices. Presents findings and works with the Business Unit Leader and other
process leads to identify and implement strategies that will address tactical and strategic goals.

 Prepares Business Reports (Financial, SWOT, Value Chain Analysis, operational efficiency, industry
benchmarking, industries / sector reports, trend analysis, competitive landscape, client profiles and tear
sheets etc.) and provide insights for decision making.

 Proactively works with the business / function leaders to identify opportunities, capability dimensions, and
domain specialization, strengthen business drivers, mitigate business risk and build key client strategy.

 Identifies and coordinates assignments of internal resources and external contractors to meet the BU’s
project requirements. – Strong Project Management Acumen

 Create new/ enhance existing capabilities through build/buy/partner, develop and execute go to market
plans

 Understanding of business and industry practices


 Ability to share the vision with the business leader and look at business from a business leader’s
perspective and delivery value to stakeholders
 Provide consulting to customers on the best practices and business improvement
 Good Client management and multiple Stakeholder Management capability
 Build analytical reports and documents provide business insights for decisions making
 Manage Projects and key initiatives for the business and drive project objectives, review structures and
adhere to the timelines
 Build relationship with teams and work closely with them to delivery business results
 Research industry trends, competitive landscape and client needs and share insights with the business
leaders
 The focus of the role is to drive growth for the business unit and the organization. The candidate will be
expected to actively work on devising new strategies for growth and also lead GTM initiatives – including
new capability development and solutioning for new business opportunities

CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

 B - School Graduate from a Premiere Business School with a good academic background
 Specialization in Consulting, Corporate Strategy, Finance, Research & Analytics, Operations or Project
Management
 Prior work experience of 2 – 5 years of experience (preferable in strategic role or consulting organization)
in Manufacturing/Retail/CPG industry - as an employee or service provider

KEY COMPETENCIES/ FUNCTIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE :

 Ability to provide leadership in a fast-paced work environment


 Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills
 Strategic Thinking and Analytical ability with exposure to technology tools and statistical techniques

 Demonstrate the ability to work in an onshore-offshore model and to understand the issues and
