(05) In the triangle ABC, AC = BC. The points A,B,D,E are lie on a same straight line. If
𝐶𝐷 𝐸 = 160 and A𝐶 𝐷 = 90 , find the value of 𝐴𝐵 𝐶.

Paper I - Part B

(1) (a) The value of a bicycle with 20% custom duty added to it is Rs.180000. What is the
value of the bicycle without the duty?

(b) The assessed annual value of a shop within the administrative domain of a certain
municipal council is Rs.100000. Municipal council charges 9% of the value of the shop
as annual rates. Calculate the rates that have to be paid for a quarter.

(c) After few years later assessed value of the shop is increased and the annual rate also
increased to 10%. If the rate that is paying for a quarter is increased by Rs 750, find the
new assessed value of the shop.

(1) Following table shows, 50 Grade 11 students participation on online class during 60
holidays in a certain school.

(i) What is the modal class?


(ii) By taking mid value of the modal class as assumed mean or using any other method
find the mean number of days of a student participation for the online session conducted?

(iii) If 80 minutes period allocated for each subject and if 3 subjects were thought per day,
Find the mean value of the number of hours spent by one student for two months?

(iv) If Rs.235 has to spend as internet charges for 1hour, find the total amount spent by all
the students for one month internet usage?

(2) (a) (i) If both sets A and B have common elements write down the relationship between
the number of elements in set A and B.
(ii) If 𝑛(𝐴) = 30, 𝑛(𝐵) = 26, 𝑛(𝐴 ∪ 𝐵) = 43 find 𝑛(𝐴 ∩ 𝐵).

(b) Out of 200 workers in a garment factory, 120 were diagnosed with the covid-19 disease.
Of those patients, 100 showed complications, while others showed no complications.

(i) Name the given Venn diagram and write down the number of elements in each
region.

(ii) How many patients did not show complications?

(iii) How many people are not infected?

(3) 𝑛th term of a sequence (progression) is 2𝑛 + 3.

(i) Write down the first 3 terms of this sequence.


(ii) Which type of progression is this?
(iii) Find the 8th term.
(iv) Find the sum of the first 8 terms of this progression using formulae.

(v) Using formulae find the number of terms (starting from the 1 st term) that should be
added to get a sum of 192?
