SELECTION OF CANDIDATES TO BE TRAINED IN 6G WELDING AND QC INSPECTORS

& NDT OPERATORS

Candidates to be trained shall satisfy the following conditions;
Applicants must finish their graduation to apply for these trainings.
a) Must be individuals originating from the districts of : Buliisa, Nwoya, Pakwach, Masindi and
Hoima.
b) Meet the following other criteria:

Other Criteria - Welding Applicants

❖ Holders of O’level certificate/equivalent OR Holders of a National Vocational and
Technical Crafts certificate in Welding and Metal fabrication OR Have at least 2 years of
practice/experience in Welding and Metal fabrication.
❖ Have basic English reading and writing skills, good mathematical skills (advanced
numeracy) and physics skills (basic knowledge in electricity)
❖ Have good eyesight and be physically and medically fit. Some eye defects may not be
compatible with welding (squint, monocular, presbyopia, hyperopia,).
❖ Preference will be given to applicants previously trained in 1G, 2G, and 3G coded
welding who have proof of their training/certification
❖ Able to commit to stay at the training institute for at least 3 months and complete the
training

Other Criteria for QC Inspector & NDT Operators

❖ Holders of A’level certificate/equivalent OR Have at least 2 years of practice/experience in Welding
and Metal fabrication.
❖ Have good English reading and writing skills, good mathematical skills (advanced numeracy), physics
skills (basic knowledge in electricity) and technology skills.
❖ Able to read and interpret technical drawings, understand the different types of electricity, understand
formulas and apply the correct units in formulas.
❖ Have good eyesight and be physically and medically fit.
❖ Able to commit to stay at the training institute for at least 3 months and complete the training.
❖ Good mathematical skills (advanced numeracy) and physics (basic knowledge in
electricity: what is an intensity tension,) and technology skills.
❖ Ability to read and interpret a drawing.
❖ Basic knowledge in Electricity and applying the formulas as well.
