WS 22 Information for

Applicants with a
Non-German degree

Application for a study place in the program MSc.International Marketing at the


Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM)/University of Applied Sciences

Who has to apply via UNI-ASSIST?


• All citizens with a Non German university entry qualification (e.g. Matura, A-Levels, High School
Diploma, Baccalaureat, Atestat, Gaocao and others) and a Business degree (Bachelor, Diploma)
which is given by any other country than Germany
• German Citizenship applicants holding a Bachelor/Master degree in Business Administration/
Economics from a Non-German University

Application deadline for M.Sc. International Marketing: June15 (program starts only once a year
in autumn).THM Commission decision will be taken in the mid of July each year.

ATTENTION: We recommend submitting your application to UNI-ASSIST 2 weeks before


deadline. In case of an application dossier with formal deficiencies, this will offer
you sufficient time to hand in missing documents or to respond to enquiries.

enclose the following documents

• School leaving certificate of the home country (university entry qualification - upper secondary
education) including transcript of records from final examinations.

• The graduation certificate and a transcript of you preceding Bachelor/Master or Diploma


Degree studies in Business Administration (due to the consecutive study structure of the
MSc. program). The study result has to be good (Grade point average of 2.2 or better in the
German grading system - the transfer of home grades into the German system will be done
by uni-assist. In the Bachelor-/Diploma transcript 10 ECTS credits* earned in maths/
statistics are requested as an additional entry requirement. *1 ECTS is equivalent to 30
course hours.
• In case you are not graduated at deadline or in case your university can not deliver the
graduation certificate at deadline: please hand in a transcript of studies signed by the
university/faculty. Please state what courses/results are missing on a separate sheet. If you
already completed your studies and wait for the official graduation certificate, please ask the
faculty for a confirmation letter in this regard.

• Certificates of German language competency - MSc. Int. Marketing requirement: 260 course
hours or level B1

• Certificate of English language competency (TOEFL iBT score >79; IELTS score minimum 6.0;
Cambridge- FCU Grade A; TOEIC 785)

• A Curriculum Vitae, the required 2 passport-size photos are sufficient to be delivered on


enrolment day

• A reference letter from a former business administration or economics professor

• For Non Germans: A letter of motivation (1-2 pages) in German language; an English version
might be included, but will not substitute the German version !
Germans with a Non-German degree: A letter of motivation in German & English language.

• Photocopy of your passport

Important information: All documents must be presented as certified copies translated into
German or English by a publicly appointed or sworn translator. In case the
certificates are handed in from a foreign country, it is mandatory that the
copies are certified by a notary public .
The translation does not substitute the requested certificates in the home
language, they are needed for the formal checking procedure.

Application Fee
UNI-ASSIST assesses your application for formal program eligibility and transfers your national grading
schemes into European standards. The application fee for students amounts to 75 EUR for the first
university and 30 EUR for every additional university for which you may wish to apply.

 Please enquire with your bank at home about the bank charges for transfer to a bank abroad. Any
bank charges have to be paid in addition to the above mentioned ASSIST application fee. Please
include as >fee payment reference< the following details: your first name, surname, date of birth
and your home country.

In case you fulfil all program eligibility requirements, UNI-ASSIST will transfer your data to our institution.
Based on its subsequent internal selection procedure, the THM will submit to you its letter of offer or a
letter of rejection.

THM Study Fees


The semester social fee (social service contribution, administration costs and cost for the semester
public transportation ticket) amounts to approx. 283 EUR. The amount changes slightly each semester.

Please note: Non-EUs have to present for getting a student visa for Germany a banc deposit of
approximately € 8.000.
