and nationalism among the students. The primary goal of this act is for the benefits of the
students in order for theme to develop self-awareness, leadership; literacy and numeracy skills.
The
NSTP is subdivided into three essential components namely; civic and welfare training program
(CWATS), literacy training service (LTS) and Reserved officers training corps (ROTC)

several project Implementation that could address needs and problem of the people.

Area Selection
The selection of the area was one of the most consuming and disturbing part of the pre-
immersion activities. Several factors were considered in selecting the area. In addition, the
members’ involvement and participation were always recognized.
The first deliberation of the team’s target area was first conducted during the community
immersion seminar – workshop facilitated by the National Service Training Program – Civic
Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS) Coordinator of Mabini Colleges, Incorporated held on
December 8, 2019 at Miguel Rojo Ibana (MRI Hall). The team was given the time to decide in
the particular areas or places they want to conduct their immersion activities. The team members
participated in the various activities done by the facilitators and coordinator of the NSTP.
Since the planning of the target areas was done under time pressure, the chosen
barangays were not finalizing yet and still subject for change because the team was not yet fully
decided since they haven’t had any idea on the arising problems in the chosen areas. But the
finalization of target areas was not just the issue that the team had.
There are lots of barangay here in Camarines Norte that needs help and improvements.
Sunflower Team finally decided to conduct activities in Barangay Plaridel, Basud and Calle
Sexy, Barangay V Daet Camarines Norte because based on observation, one of the community’s
problems in Barangay Plaridel is the construction of roads and their main problem was lack of
street light which may leads into possible accidents and crime at night and also in Calle Sexy
Barangay V is the excretive surroundings and a not-friendly playground for the day-care pupils.
Community Visit
Our Community Visit program is a way for community to engage and bring together their
residents, set common goals and directions in a neutral and facilitated structure, and access
resources that will help them take action on those goals. The Community Visit program,
provided at no cost to communities, gets citizens engaged in working for their communities and
connects them to the resources they need to be successful.
Through the National Service Training Program (NSTP) process, the Team Sunflower of
Civic Welfare Training Service(CWTS) members came together in some particular areas which
is Calle Sexy Barangay V Daet Camarines Norte and Barangay Plaridel Basud, Camarines Norte
to identify the things that needs improvement, prioritize the goals, to foster leadership,
development and realize achievable action plans in the selected areas. Warm acceptance was felt
by the team as they have their time to talk with the official and staffs of the selected barangay.
Being able to visit the community becomes also the time for them to seek and ask people about
the problem arising in their community. The visitation as well as the interview brought a great
help for the team to easily think about the possible problems to do and to be implemented to
provide change and improvement in the community.
This chosen areas are basically one of the places that needs long-term improvement. By
observing the selected Barangay, team Sunflower observed that there are areas in that place that
need to be develop and improve just like waste disposal, construction of roads even planting
trees.
