TECHNICAL DATASHEET
KPIC Fiberglass (GRP) Ladders
KPIC Fiberglass Ladders are manufactured from GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) Pultruded
structural sections which when compared on a weight-to-weight basis are far stronger than their
metal equivalents. It is a unique product that has the combination of lightweight, strength rigidity
and corrosion resistance. The innovative KPIC ladder and cage systems meet or exceed OSHA
requirements and are available in compact kits for easy, on-site installation.
Composite ladders are ideally suited for installation in corrosive environments such as those
found in the water, waste, marine and chemical industries.
SPECIFICATIONS:
The fabrication of the ladder will be standard (QCS) or as per the client needed. This is
fabricated from pultruded square tubes and rounded rungs. The ladder stringer is fabricated
using 50x50mm square tube and the rungs are 32mm serrated hollow tube. The rungs shall be
provided at the distance of 300mm center to center. The surface of each rung has an anti-skid
surface to prevent slippage when stepping on it.
The stand off brackets are provided for suitable fixing with any structure using stainless steel
anchor and are fixed with the stringer using stainless steel nuts and bolts with a maximum
distance of 1200mm for each bracket.
Ladders with safety cage are available as per the requirement. These cages starts from a
maximum clear distance of 2100mm from the ground. The total width will be 750mm with safety
cage and 400mm without safety cage.
Ladders are designed and manufactured as per ASTM & ISO standards.
COMPOSITIONS:
1. Resin - Isophthalic, Vinyl Ester (Heat & Chemical Resistant) resins are used from
reputable manufacturers all complying to BS 3532 standards.
2. Glassfibre Reinforcements - Type “E” and “ECR” Glassfibre tricote Strand Mat, Woven
Roving Glass Fabric and Type “C” veils Glass Surface Tissue, conforming to BS 3496 and BS
3749.
3. Surface Finish - Surface as required will have a Gel coat smooth finish on both the ends.
These are of Isophthalic & Vinyl Ester - Flame Retardant grade and possibly higher grades
depending on the application.
BENEFITS & ADVANTAGES:
Corrosion Resistant – Requires less maintenance. No rust, peeling of flaking and will
continue to maintain structural integrity over time.
Strong & Lightweight – Up to 70% lighter than steel, concrete or wood with an exceptional
strength-to-weight ratio.
Low Installation Cost – Easy to cut and can be installed easily with nuts and bolts. Welding
or hot work is not necessary. Installation can be done without using heavy equipment
and machinery, requiring less manpower.
Maintenance Free – The durability and corrosion resistance of GRP and pultruded
gratings and other products reduce or eliminate need for heavy maintenance like
sandblasting, scraping and painting. In fact, most GRP products are easily cleaned with
a high-pressure washer.
Safety – Slip resistant footing in wet and oily environments can increase safety for workers
which lead to fewer workplace accidents and a reduction of injury associated costs.

R25H
Single End Roving for Filament Winding and Pultrusion
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Single-End Rovings are produced by pulling individual fibers directly
© JL Sponga
from the bushing and winding them onto a roving package ready for
shipment. The uniform distribution of a proprietary sizing system
ensures an excellent resin-to-glass binding through uniform
distribution of the binding agent. This results in maximum strand
integrity.
Single-End Rovings are manufactured using the T30® Roving state-of-
the-art technology of OCV™ Reinforcements, in conjunction with
statistical process control in manufacturing facilities certified to ISO
9001.
PRODUCT APPLICATION
R25H is specifically designed for use in filament winding and
pultrusion applications in polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy resin
systems. R25H maximizes strand wet out, allowing superior
mechanical properties for pipes made with a continuous process.
Combined with Advantex® glass, Owens Corning’s trademarked
corrosion resistant E glass, R25H enhances pipe life-time in
chemical and sewage pipe markets. It is also safe for use in pipes
used for water distribution. R25H is also suitable for pultrusion of
central stiffness members for fiber optic cabling
MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
The following data was generated using production material R25H – 2400 Tex (207 Yield):
Interlaminar Shear Strength Dry shear strength Dry shear strength shear strength Retention

PACKAGING
Rovings are available in a single-end internal-pull package. Each pallet weighed about 1 ton. Pallets are
stretch wrapped for load stability. All doffs are wrapped with Tack-Pak® or shrinkable film for protection
during transport. Full doffs are available in weights between 20 kg (45 lb.) and 35 kg (77 lb.), and they can
be packaged in bulk or Creel-Pak® format. More information is available in the Customer Acceptance
Standards.
STORAGE
Unless otherwise specified, it is recommended to store glass fiber products in a cool, dry area. The
packaging is not waterproof. Be sure to protect the product from the weather and other sources of water.
The glass fiber products must remain in their original packaging material until the point of usage. If these
conditions are maintained, the glass fiber product should not undergo significant changes when stored for
one year. Beyond one year after delivery, the product might evolve, specifically if stored outside the
recommended conditions.
Best storage conditions are temperatures between 22ºC and 23ºC, and humidity between 60% and 65%.
The product should be stored in the workshop, within its original packaging, 48 hours prior to its utilization.

GENERAL:
The results relate only to items tested.
METHOD:
The maximum distance the flame travels along the length of the sample
from the end of the igniting flame is determined by observation. The
Flame Spread Index of the material is derived by plotting the progression
of the flame front on a time-distance basis, ignoring any flame front
recession, and using the equations described below:
A. CFS = 0.515 A T when AT is less than or equal to 97.5 minute-
foot.
B. CFS = 4900/(195-AT) when AT is greater than 97.5 minute-foot.
