3. Take a photo of your paper. There should be two photos to be submitted,
3.a. One photo should contain the paper with your answers; and
3.b. Another one photo of you holding the same paper (selfie)

Total Points: 30 points

Problems:
1. Gapasin Office and School Supplies is selling a variety of school and office supplies, and other stationery
products. During the summer period, they always start producing school notebooks in preparation for a vast
number of customers when school days are approaching. They are producing two types of notebooks:
spring and knitted notebooks. Each product has its own content categories: the 50 leaves and 100 leaves
notebook. To hasten the production process, instead of manually counting the number of leaves in a single
notebook product, they are just weighing it using a 50-gram weighing machine.

1.a Suppose we’ll just focus first on the spring notebooks. The 50 leaves spring notebook requires
10 grams of paper and 5 minutes of labor in order to produce a single piece of a 50 leaves spring notebook.
On the other hand, the 100 leaves notebook requires 20 grams of paper and 6 minutes of labor. There are
3 kilos of paper and 16 hours of labor available each of the production cycle. The 50 leaves notebook yields
a profit of P6.00 while the 100 leaves notebook yields P8.00. How many of each product is needed to be
produced in each cycle in order to maximize the profit?

1.b For the knitted notebooks, when it comes to the leaf contents, it’s just the same with the spring
notebooks. Only that, knitted notebooks requires higher amount of labor (for knitting). The 50 leaves knitted
notebook requires 10 minutes of labor while the 100 leaves knitted notebook requires 12 minutes. The 50
leaves knitted notebook yields a profit of P8.00 while the 100 leaves knitted notebook yields P10.00. There
are 2 kilos of paper and 24 hours of labor available each of the production cycle. How much of each
product is needed to produce in order to maximize the profit?
