Friendly letter giving news

You are on holidays on an island. Write to a friend.

Dear Jimmy,

I hope you are fine. I’m writing you because my family and I went in Galapagos islands,
specifically in Santa Cruz island last weekend and I’m very excited. We’ve come here by
airplane with two stops in Spain and in Equador. I’m having a wonderful time here. The
weather is so good and sunny.

Here there are a lot of fabulous beaches so yesterday I went for a swim and the sea was
great. I’ve never seen such a clean sea. I went for surfing too but unfortunately there were
no waves, because there was no wind.

Also in Galapagos islands there are about 3,000 volcanoes and that makes it one of the most
active volcanic areas in the world. I’m going to see one of them tomorrow and I’m so
excited.

What’s more is that in Galapagos there are a lot of endangered animals such as the sea
iguana, the brown pelican and the Galapagos penguin. But I think the most impressive one is
the blue-footed booby and its natural habitats are the tropical islands of the Pacific Ocean. It
is a normal bird, but it has blue feet and that makes it very strange. I’ve seen one of them
and it was very funny.

Anyway, I have to go. I should relax now. I was in the beach with my siblings and my parents
the entire day. I’m looking forward to seeing you when I come back to Greece.

All the best,

George
