(2014) conducted a study aiming to assess the


difference of family pathology and social support in the relapsed of bipolar affective
disorder and schizophrenia patients. They used purposive sampling technique and
the subjects included 30 Bipolar Affective Disorder Patients and 30 Schizophrenia
Patients. Tools used were Semi structured Socio Demographic Data Sheet, Family
Pathology Scale and Social Support Questionnaire. Though the study it was
concluded that Family pathology is high in the families of patients with
schizophrenia in comparison to Bipolar Affective Disorder Patient’s family but the
social support is poor in the families of patients with schizophrenia in comparison to
Bipolar Affective Disorder Patient’s family.

Dutta, M. M., & Sanyal, N. (2015) investigated the marital quality and family
pathology in parents of children with ADHD in comparison with parents of Non-
ADHD children. 32 parents of children with ADHD and 32 parents of non-ADHD
children were selected. Data were collected using Marital Quality Scale and Family
Pathology Scale. Independent t-test reveals that the two groups differ significantly
with respect to the total index of family pathology. Further the mean scores of family
pathology in parents of ADHD children were higher than parents of non-ADHD
children. Higher means scores indicates poor family functioning.
