Today is the first day of our Field study in our barangay.

I felt so excited because

I’m longing for this moment to be in school again. We are five student-teachers who will
accommodate 25 students in two hours. We arrived in our Day Care Center by 8:30 am
and some of the students are already there, waiting for us. I can feel the excitement of
those students to have a face-to-face class again, so that we immediately open the gate
and let them enter the classroom. I can see the happiness in their eyes to meet other
students and to have an actual teacher again. Exactly 9:00 am when we start. We
begin with a prayer then followed by the National Anthem. We also prepare energizer
for them, we dance and sing altogether. Afterwards, we introduce ourselves with the
students individually. We also told them the rules and regulations inside the classroom.
Then, we divide the students according to their age and grade level, grades three to
four are assigned to me. We introduce ourselves and I make sure that they are
comfortable with me. I also asked them who can already read and Thanks God because
they are already capable of reading. I ask them to read a short story individually to
evaluate if they can really read. By 10:30 am, we ready the food that we prepared, It is a
spaghetti because we all know that kids love spaghetti. They are very happy and we
make sure that they will come back next Friday.
