Is it healthy to

Everyone knows that regular light
jogging, swimming and morning
gymnastics are universal health
measures. But sport is not always
good for health as most people
think. I would like to tell you about
the harm that sports brings for
professional athletes and about
the harm for ordinary people.

Part about professional athlets

Running
One of the most common injuries in professional
athletes is "runner's knee" - inflammation of the
cartilage, which manifests itself in the form of dull
pain in the area of the upper part of the kneecap.
Also, professional athletes often notice
inflammation of the periosteum – painful
sensations manifest in the lower leg or part of it. In
addition, the Achilles tendon – the upper part of
the heel - also suffers from a high pace of running.
Swimming
First of all, the heart and the entire cardiovascular
system work for wear during loads in the pool.
Active movements with regular lack of breathing
and contact with chlorinated water provoke an
unhealthy rapid heartbeat, which leads to the
development of heart pathologies: arrhythmia,
ischemia and angina. Unfortunately, there are also
fatal outcomes when the athlete's heart suddenly
stops coping with heavy loads. The public was
struck by the case of the death of a young
swimmer, whose heart stopped after his swim.
For
ordinary
persons
Almost all doctors agree that regular intensive
training eventually "wears out" the cardiovascular
system. Determining the appropriate type of
activity is worth taking care of not only
professionals, but also every amateur athlete.
Doctors have defined a general list of medical
contraindications to sports, which mentions all
imaginable ailments - from exacerbation of
stomach ulcers and flat feet to nervous diseases
and mental disorders.
