Mathematical Treasure Hunt

Introduction

The mathematical treasure hunt is a great activity for fun and engaging mathematics lessons: follow a
trail of clues and mathematical problems. Solving the problems which gives number with a
corresponding letter to find the hidden message.

This document contains mathematical question and problems to be solved, to find the hidden message.

This treasure hunt is VERY SIMPLE. It works best with a groups of people with different abilities. Working
as a team, and in competition, supports team working skills, and even other people with difficulties in
mathematics can participate.

The questions are taken from a wide range of different topics, and some may not often directly be
related to mathematics curriculum.

The answer to each problem is a number, and all numbers have a corresponding letter. Find the answers
in each problem and uncover the hidden message, and who knows, what kind of treasure awaits.

Preparation

First choose 5 locations in your school or area to put someone in-charge to handle or hold different
question or problems. In 5 locations, the group can pick which location to start (1 location to be
revealed).

Each group should have 5 members. A Team consist of 5 players. Only 1 member can go to the one
location. When the 1st member solved the problem in the 1st location, the one in-charge shall reveal
one random location. The player who solved the problem needs to go back to its other member and
repeat the process.

The answers to the problem are number/s that corresponds to a letter and later on be used to uncover a
message and unlock the treasure.
