Wayang Kulit – These are theatrical presentations based on the epic stories and myths of the
Mahabharata and Ramayana from India. It is a puppet play, that uses puppets made from the
skin of water buffalo or goat.

Gamelan – This is accompanied by a traditional Indonesian orchestra.

Bonang – The image shows the instruments of Wayang Kulit. Its


appearance shows a pot-like object in a gold stand.

Saron – The image shows the instruments of Wayang Kulit. Its


appearance shows a xylophone instrument in a brown-gold pattern
theme stand.

Gender – The image shows the instruments of Wayang Kulit. Its


appearance shows a double or paired-xylophone instrument.

Kethuk – The image shows the instruments of Wayang Kulit. Its


appearance shows two/pair pots in a stand.

Kempul – The image shows the instruments of Wayang Kulit. Its

Kenong – The image shows the instruments of Wayang Kulit. Its


appearance shows pot-like objects.
Kendang – The image shows the instruments of Wayang Kulit. Its
appearance shows a thick drum-like shape.

Metrical Music – This is one of the accompaniments, its beats of the music are grouped into
two's three's, four's and so on. One can usually hear steady beats of the music.

Non-metrical Music – This is one of the accompaniments, a kind of musical accompaniment


to Wayang Kulit that does not have a definite meter. There is no anticipated musical rhythm.
The timing, phrasing, and rhythm of the accompaniment are at the discretion of the performer
or the dalang.

Kabuki – This is an all-male Japanese theater. The three Kanji characters mean "song" (ka),
"dance" (bu), and "technique" or "skill" (ki). Which literally means "the art of dancing and
singing".

Gidayu Bushi – This is one of the music classifications of the Kabuki theater. A type of
narrative music that uses shamisen as the main instrument.

Geza – This is one of the music classifications of the Kabuki theater. It is known as a shadow
or (Hayashi). An offstage music that is essential for creating atmosphere and mood is played
in the Kuromisu (room on the left of the stage) where the presentation is held.

Dehayashi – This is one of the music classifications of the Kabuki theater. It is known as
"degatari", its music is played on the kabuki stage during the presentation in order to lighten
the mood or effect on the audience (incidental music).

Shamisen – This image shows the classifications of a Kabuki Theater.


Its appearance shows a guitar-like shape.

O-Daiko Drum – This image shows the classifications of a Kabuki


Theater. Its appearance shows a big drum on a wooden stand.

Peking Opera – This opera was originated in China. An ingenious combination of various art
forms, that includes traditional Chinese Music, singing, poetry, dancing, recitation, acrobatics,
and Martial Arts skills.

Chang – This is one of the fundamental elements of the Peking Opera that is known as vocal
music.

Nian – This is one of the fundamental elements of the Peking Opera that is known as dialogue.
Zuo – This is one of the fundamental elements of the Peking Opera that is known as acting.

Da – This is one of the fundamental elements of the Peking Opera that is known as (martial
arts).

Pipa – This is one of the Musical Instruments in Peking Opera. A type of stringed instrument,
showing a pear-shaped lute with four strings.

Sanxian – This is one of the Musical Instruments in Peking Opera. A type of stringed
instrument, showing a three-stringed plucked instrument.

Yueqin – This is one of the Musical Instruments in Peking Opera. A type of stringed
instrument, showing a four-stringed plucked instrument with a full-moon-shaped resonator.

Erhu – This is one of the Musical Instruments in Peking Opera. A type of stringed instrument,
showing a fiddle with two strings.

Dizi – This is one of the Musical Instruments in Peking Opera. A type of Wind Instrument,
showing a bamboo flute.

Suona – This is one of the Musical Instruments in Peking Opera. A type of Wind Instrument,
showing a horn (reed instrument).

Sheng – This is one of the Musical Instruments in Peking Opera. A type of Wind Instrument,
showing a reed pipe (mouth organ).

Gu – This is one of the Musical Instruments in Peking Opera. A type of Percussion Instruments,
showing a drum with a high pitch.

Bo – This is one of the Musical Instruments in Peking Opera. A type of Percussion Instruments,
showing Chinese cymbals.

Ban – This is one of the Musical Instruments in Peking Opera. A type of Percussion
Instruments, showing bamboo clappers.

Luo – This is one of the Musical Instruments in Peking Opera. A type of Percussion
Instruments, showing Chinese gong.
