Amanda Jay Mortimer Burden is a Principal at

Bloomberg Associates, an international consulting
service founded by Michael Bloomberg as a
philanthropic venture to help city governments
improve the quality of life of their citizens.

She says “when I think of city, I think of people. Cities

are fundamentally about people and where people
go, or where people meet or as a core what makes
city work. What are more important than the
buildings in the city are the public spaces in between
them. I believe, lively enjoyable public spaces are the
keys for planning a great city.”
Let us start :
In reality we cannot propose anything there. It is all filled with farm
fields owned by farmers.
But for the sake of design project we assume it as a unused land. Or
not properly maintained land.

Design Aim and Intension:

To propose more places with greenery and places to sit where you
don’t feel alone. And more importantly I stick to single mantra
“Sarve janaha sukhino bhavanthu” in other words “Let everyone be
happy”.

What I learned from urban project?
I now know how important it is to a design to respond to urban scale. In fact it even applies to
private house design in which many would think it is private so that it can be designed in any
manner.
Also this project is a lesson on how to do work in groups and how to take work from others .
Tip: Don’t show your design which is not well executed. In other words, if you show improperly
represented design to your guide, there is a good chance of misunderstanding of your
imagination. So when you are ok with the representation they only show it to sir.
