Sampling
The Visco-Spoon™, is used in the titration
cell without pretitration sampling. It’s
handled like any other spatula, which
makes it extremely easy to take samples.

Initial weighing
During the initial weighing, the titra-
tion cell is sealed. The Visco-Spoon™
is weighed without spilling the product
sample on the balance.

Sample transfer
The Visco-Spoon™ is directly inserted
into the titration cell in place of the stop-
per. In this case, it is particularly impor-
tant that the sample is fully submerged
into the solution of the titration cell.
Measurement
The sample is dissolved by means of
vigorous stirring or – depending on the
sample – using the homogenizer. The
Visco-Spoon™ seals the cell and only
then is removed for the next sample.
Visco-Spoon™
For some samples, Karl Fischer titration is problematic
due to the viscosity of the material. The usual methods
of transferring the weighed amount into the titration
cell often cannot be used. The Visco-Spoon™ can
weigh and transfer samples without losing material on
the way and can be used for a wide range of samples:
• Chocolate mousse/sauce
• Honey
• Mustard
• Cosmetics (cream)
• Various dairy products
