PAPER
A seminar paper is a written
document of what you are
going to say to a group of
people (e.g. fellow students
and lecturers) about a topic
you have studied/researched
on or a project you have
worked on.
TITLE
OF SEMINAR PAPER
- Same as your project title.
AUTHOR’S DETAILS
(UNDER THE TITLE):
- Your name.
- Student No.
- Department name.
- Name of Institution.
ABSTRACT
- State the most important facts
and ideas in your paper.It is
just a technical summary of
the paper/report.
- The abstract should state clearly:
(i) Problem studied or solved.
(ii) Method used
(iii) Main results
(iv) Main conclusions.
MAIN TEXT
- Should be divided into sections (may
have sub-sections)
- First section should be ‘Introduction’.
- Introduction should:
(i) Review background of project.
(ii) outline contents of paper.
- Final section: Should summarise
conclusions.
OTHERS
- References:
(i) Give references to all information obtained from various
sources.
(ii) Every reference in list must be mentioned in main text.
- Tables:
(i) Must have a number and caption above table.
(ii) Must be mentioned in main text.
- Figures:
(i) Must have a number and caption below figure.
(ii) Must be mentioned in main text.
- Table of contents:
Make a list of your section headings (and sub-headings).
