1. From the discussed highlights of Filipino Grievances Against Governor Wood, sight two (2) reasons
why Abad Santos and Bocobo which represented the Filipino people filed a petition against governor-
general Leonard Wood. Elaborate your answer.

Answer:
Before Governor-General Leonard Wood came from Philippines U.S. promised to the
Filipinos to be a better a country, to govern by its own without helped from them. But after
Governor-general Leonard Wood came this are going to useless because Governor-general Wood
broke this promises and he just believes what he believes. Instead of making the country the
country’s better because it has a leader it became chaos because of his governance. The first
reason why Abad Santos and Bocobo which represented the Filipino people filed a petition against
Governor-general Leonard Wood because he abused his responsibility as a Governor-general in
the Philippine Islands and the Executive Order No. 37.They filed a petition against in the Governor-
general to protect the people in the said island and freedom of the people. They would like to point
is people have their own rights and justice and democracy because they have their own rights and
fight for it not to controlled by the people of the U.S.

2. In the Declaration of Philippine Independence by Rianzares-Bautista, why and how did the revolution
materialized leading to the independence? Highlight the important people and places mentioned in the
reading.

Answer:
It is the revolution against the Spain and the war for the independence. The Spain was controlled
them so, in order for them to be free it is they did against from Spain under the leadership of Emilio
Aguinaldo. Back to the tejeros convention Aguinaldo was elected as a first president of the Philippines.
They experienced unequal trait from Spain, they given a punishment without proper hearing. In order for
them to be free they find a way and it is the revolution against from Spain. Nowadays we enjoy being
independent that the help of them and we must proudly remember and being grateful for what they did to
our country.

3. From the Speech of Cory Aquino, give one issue she highlighted regarding the challenges with
restoration of democracy in the Philippines and what was her proposal in addressing it.

Answer:
As what in the speech of Corry Aquino, she highlighted of being good governance for the people.
She’s like to point that being a leader should view the goodness of all not the country itself. What would be
the worth of being a more projects implemented and the worth of being disciplined people in the country
where the people itself suffering because of these. She’s right it’s not supposed to do that and see for the
sake of everybody. We have our own rights so, we should fight for it and not being controlled by the
government. She said to her that she’s the instrument only in order to fulfill the wishes of the Filipinos. Her
victory as a new elected as president of the Philippines is the victory also of the Filipinos she said. It is her
proposal for the Filipinos to well run the country under her administration. It’s not known that have the
democracy Filipinos are free now no, she said in order to be disciplined the Filipinos give a small force to
discipline if it is not simple to get.
