1. Introduction
Feel-DRCS for Mammo is the name of the Digital Retrofit Mammography Control
Software of IMFOU Co. Ltd.
Feel-DRCS for Mammo is the DR control software that acquires image from the DR
detector
like flat panel , processes rapidly for clinical application, and provides DICOM services
for the integration with PACS system.
This manual explains how to install and operate Feel-DRCS for Mammo software.

2. Purpose
Feel-DRCS for Mammo is the operation console system software integrated with
IMFOU detectors or X-ray generator, based on FS-MLW (Faster Specialized Multi
Layered Wavelet) technology.
Feel-DRCS for Mammo is the product developed for the operator, designed at the
clinical hospital through many years of clinical tests, and finished by service engineers.

2.1. Intended Use

This software is intended for mammographic radiologist or medical doctors. Also,
software must be installed by authorized engineer from purchased company.
For proper usage and safety purposes, please ensure that

only legally qualified person (Doctor, Medical Treatment
Radiological Technologist, Medical Treatment X-RAY
Technologist) can use this product after fully familiarize with
contents of user manual
This medical device can’t use alone. So this product need to

connect with X-ray detector. Sometimes, this software
operates with exposure condition of X-ray Generator system.
This product is a medical device, and it should only be used

as digital X-ray radiography console software for X-ray
radiography at corresponding hospitals.

3. System requirements
Software requires Intel based Core i5 CPU or higher and minimum 4GB of memory.
Recommend Intel Core i5 6th Generation or higher CPU and minimum 8GB of memory
for proper operation.

High fidelity of grayscale and optimized luminance distribution

If you want to use high-resolution monitor, we recommend medical LCD monitor (B/W
or color). There is no problem because the present software was made based on gray
color when you want to use black and white monitor.
For image quality control, we recommend the below among medical monitors. It is
because it needs to adjust the image at the same brightness for diagnosis after taking
X-ray. Most of monitors are made according to each country’s medical standard so
that there is no problem to use them.

4. Installation & Delete software
If you want to install on your new PC or reinstall after removing the old
version, please follow the below procedures.
4.1. Installation Preparation
4.1.1. Preparation
Install detector or generator related drives after installing this software. Insert the
installation CD into CD-ROM drive or copy after making a folder in your PC hard disk.
The automatic installation program works when using CD-ROM. If you do manually,
go to the below folder and double-click “Setup”.
If you copy and paste the installation program to temporary folder, error might occur
due to path restriction of Windows. In this case, retry installation after creating a folder
with short name and pasting installation program.
Installation might fail with error when name of logged in account includes other
characters than English alphabets and numbers. In this case, add an administrator
account with English characters and retry the installation after logging in with added
administrator account.

4.1.2. Path Configuration
Specify the path of the software to be installed. Select the drive to install from the
below list and click “Next”.
Disk list only shows the fixed HDD. We recommend to install the
software on C Drive, not any other path.
The list is displayed the fixed drive, not are displayed CD-ROM or
Floppy disk. We recommend Feel-DRCS to set up to Drive C:
“When you get the above message meaning the same folder name
exists in the drive to install, you can not continue. For continuation,
you need to change the folder name in the drive as “_bak” into a
different name.
This is for the case that other software with the same name was
installed and the case that the backup was not done after removing
the previous installation.”

Specify the path where the image data will be stored.
This message displays when there is folder with same name at specified path, different
software with same name is already installed or installed same software in the past.
Will be able to continue installation after change the name or remove the folder.
Above message displays when selected path has not enough empty disk space.
Click No to select different path at different disk or click YES to ignore and install.
Following message displays when empty space of disk for data

storage is less than 40GB. Able to install by ignoring or can proceed
installation after adding new disk.
“When you get the above message meaning the memory space is less
than 40GB, you can click “Yes” to continue. You need at least 40GB
to install this software. This memory space includes created data to

be added after installation.
4.1.3. Selection of the device

Select the Software and Device that will be installed.
This window displays depends on installation CD.

4.1.4. Completing the Installation
After you finish installing the software, restart your computer to display the installed
software on the desktop. Please refer to how to use setup for software setup.
4.2. Removing software

Please follow the below steps to remove any pre-installed software.
4.2.1. Data Backup

Back up the below files and folders at the route of the installed software.
 AceView.ini
 AceView.mdb
 Cor folder
 Default Curve folder

Other files or folders which other operators added

4.2.2. Software Removal
. From Add or Remove Programs of the Control Panel, click “Remove” to uninstall the
unnecessary software.

4.3. Setup
For detailed setup for each detector/generator, do on the below screen after rebooting
or starting setup.exe in the installation folder for re modification.
Library Path : Specify the path of file related to Detector.
Data Cut Size : Configure the cutting size of image.

Image will display after cutting based on the setting from
acquired image. Can specify different size depends on capture
mode.

Etc : 12bit Send: To send the 12 bit dicom file must be set.
The rest part does not check this Because the raw data value is
up to 14 bit. But PACS system is applies to process only 12 bit ,
always check it.
Interpolation: This option is that you can choose ON/OFF of
interpolation at the time of image loading in review mode. When
the images load in the review mode, the Feel-DRCS apply
interpolation for all images. So the loading time needs more time
according to image count.
But if you turn off this option, the Feel-DRCS does interpolation
when you work as using windowing, panning, zooming.
Worklist : You can set up whether enable or disable the function of using
DICOM Worklist. This default value is using wokrlist.
Select the Server in the of connecting Worklist Server. Actual
servicer configuration can be done by the software.
Filebase is a function to read the file from specific format as
Worklist.

5. Software Composition

Expose
Feel-DRCS is composed with four basic window of Worklist, Browser, Review and
Expose.
Worklist: Through DICOM Worklist, you can input the patient information, integrated
with hospital information system (HIS) or input the patient information manually..
Browser: It shows the list of stored images after acquisition. You can open the images
to edit, to send to the PACS server, and to print out.
Expose & Review : You can take images according to the information selected from
the Worklist and edit after retrieving images stored in the browser. There are the
generator tab for controlling the generator and the process tab for editing images.

5.1. Login
From the desktop, double-click “Feel-DRCS ” icon to execute the program. Put the
operator name (or ID) and password from the login screen and click “OK” to start the
program.
Check the connection status with detector and generator after login and Put the color
value connected with each part of the screen.
Screen may look frozen briefly while connections are made.
Note
-There is the difference according to the user level like company, or company name or supervisor.
-You can ordinary user account or ordinary manager account at the hospital. The “supervisor”
account is for A/S engineers.
-The screen may look still temporarily due to the connection to the equipments after login..

5.2. Screen Composition

Screen is composed of Menu, Working Space and Status Bar.
5.2.1. Menu
Top area shows current mode and click the button at the bottom to change the mode.
Expose and Review mode displays when its mode is activated.
Config button does not show from normal account, and it will only activate by login
with SUPERVISOR account.
Button to close the program is on top right corner.

5.3. Worklist
You can retrieve the study from the Worklist and display on the screen. You can also
input manually. You can move to the study mode by double-clicking the patient
information of the list or clicking the study button.

5.3.1. Exam List
It displays the list corresponding to the conditions set in the Option.
Double-click the right button of the mouse from the worklist to show pop-up menu..
① Reserve (X): Change the selected list to Reserve mode due special
reasons.
② Status: Search study lists satisfying selected study conditions.

A. All: Display all study lists.

B. R: Display the list not examined yet.
C. X: Display list changed to Reserve forcibly.
D. Y: Display the examined list.
③ Search Option: Show or hide search options of the worklist.
④ Code Manager: For the RIS code of selected studies, it displays
the code manager on the screen to select the view position.
Please refer to “8. TOOLS code manager” for its usage.
5.3.2. Manual Input
You can create new patient information by putting them. You input ID, Name, ACC.
No. and so on. You need to input at least ID and name. When you enter after inputting
Patient ID, other information is entered automatically before entering patient
information (ID, Name, Age, etc) at least one time.
Std.Exam : Start image acquisition with entered data.

View position will automatically set as RCC, LCC, RMLO, LMLO.
Exam : Change to the Study mode for inspecting as inputted study information.
View position can be selected manually when entering Expose mode.

Add : Add the inputted study information to the Study list.
Clear : Reset the inputted study information.
5.3.3. Main Menu
EXAM : Move the studies selected from the list to the EXAM mode.
DELETE : Delete the selected study lists.
REFRESH : Renew the list when DICOM worklist supported.
CODE : Setting RIS code and View position.
CALIBRATION : Run Detector Calibration
SUPERVISIOR : Displays operator currently using the system.

Able to change operator by clicking the button.

5.3.4. Search option
You can set the item to display in the list. With the patient information (ID, Name,
Access No.), you can display the specific patient or the patient satisfying special
conditions with the items like Schedule, Modality and State.
5.3.5. Refresh condition
You can set the cycle to retrive the patient information when the worklist server is is
able to be connected.
AUTO renews the list automatically according to the time cycle as above.
If you want to refresh manually, click the AUTO button again and the push the FRESH
button.

5.3.6. Code & New Set
For the RIS code of selected studies, it displays the code manager on the screen to
select the view position.
① Code : It shows all inputted RIS codes.

A. Add : Registers inputted codes.
B. Edit : Edits selected codes.
C. Del. : Deletes selected codes.
② Item : It shows all view positions matching with RIS codes. selected.
A. Up : Gets the sequence of the selected item upper.
B. Down : Gets the sequence of the selected item lower.
C. Add : Adds items selected from View position to Item.
D. Delete : Deletes items selected from Item.
③ Del. All Code : It deletes all RIS codes.
④ Load : It inputs RIS codes through Excel file.
A. The file created in Microsoft Office Excel 2003 is readable.
B. Tab name should be “Code” and RIS code should be inputted in the second
column.
⑤ OK : It closes Code Manager.

5.4. Browser
The browser mode works as database viewer in order to review saved image data. In
this mode, you can query in various ways, x-ray again, and change the sequence of
the image. You can also send to PACS or backup and restore. It is very useful
management tool.

5.4.1. Patient List,

It displays Patient ID, name, sex, date of birth, study date and so on. If you select the
list, study, series, and images are displayed on the below screen. If you double click
the item, you can check all the images for the patient on the review screen.
① EDIT
You can change the patient information as below. Check the account to know who
modified it.
② DEL
You can delete the selected patient information. In this case, also check the account.

5.4.2. Study List

This shows the study list of the patient selected from the patient list. Patient ID, study
ID, accession number, study date & time, study description and so on are displayed.
If you choose one of them, the series and images appear. Double clicking the item,
you can check images included in the study selected on the review screen.
The EDIT and DEL allow only company and supervisor user.
① EDIT
You can change the patient information as below. Check the account to know who
modified it.
② DEL
You can delete the selected patient information. In this case, also check the account.
5.4.3. Thumbnail
This shows the thumbnail images of the selected study.

5.4.4. Menu
OPEN : Open all images of the selected patient.
EXPOSURE : Change to study mode for reexamination of the selected studies.

MERGE : Merge different studies. For example, the case happens that the different
patient image is in the selected patient image folder or one patient’s
image is to merge.
B. First select the patient to merge.

C. Click the MERGE button (from the main menu).
D. It shows the above pop-up after that.
E. Select the patient to merge according to the option or the
patient list.
F. Select the study list of the selected patient and then click
the merge button.
G. It merges all Study list.

5.4.5. Command
SEND : You can send images selected (with yellow box) from the image list to PACS
server selected on the right side. (Refer to PACS of configuration for setting
PACS server).
PRINT : You can print out the selected image (with yellow box) form the image list.
File : You can save the selected images in file.
Export
CD : You can back up the selected images in CD/DVD with image viewer.
Backup
Backup : You can back up the selected images in the folder.

Back up has two options to save or export the data from the console
PC . one is saved in selected drive without viewing S/W. Another is sav
ed with viewing S/W like “CD Write backup” .
How to back up in CD-ROM
(1) Insert the empty CD to CDROM Drive
(2) Select the backup path to CDROM Drive
(3) Press “Backup start”
(4) Press “yes” as below
Restore : It restores backup images.
The Restore function can work as DICOM import. You use this function when
you register DICOM files from other sources to the DR-console software.

5.5. Expose
Below is screen of capture mode entered using study list from worklist.

Left side displays image processing parameters and bottom left displays button for
detector connection status and connection control. Right side displays View Position,
Thumbnail, Label and Tools.
Acquired images are displayed at the area of Display Image, layout of image will be
automatically changed based on number of acquired images up to 2x2 layout
Image can be acquired in order of Study List displays top right corner.

5.5.1. Detector
Ready to acquire the image from detector.
Image must be acquired only at this status.
Acquiring the image from detector.
Lost connection with detector or detector is getting ready to acquire
the image.
5.5.2. Image Display & Thumbnail
Area where acquired image is displayed on screen. Actual image is displayed at Image
Display, and small preview image displays at Thumbnail.
Detailed features will be explained on Review.

5.5.3. Study List
Indicates view position to be acquired. Once image for one view position is acquired,
automatically next view position will be selected.
Able to add or remove the view position as below by clicking Study List button.
In order to add View Position to the list, select the view position after selecting the
view type from Normal, Mag, Spot and Mag Spot. Click the button again to remove
it from the list. Delete button will remove all the view positions on the list.
5.5.4. MARKER, LABEL, TEXT, Tools
Will be explained from Review which is same function used at Review mode.

5.6. Review
You can take images according to the information selected from the Worklist and edit
after retrieving images stored in the browser.
There is the process tab for editing images
Left panel is Process part which can adjust parameter and right side is Thumbnail of
image and basic tools for modifying image.

5.6.1. Image Display, Thumbnail

Under the Review mode or Exposure mode, if you right click on the image, the pop-
up menu appears as follows.

Shutter size application:

You can apply each shutter size
CUSTOM:
If you want to add the shutter size, use the above Edit tool.
The unit is inch here.
Duplicate Image:
Create a new image by copying current image.
5.6.2. Process
Process part which displays at left panel.

Displays applied Parameter (Def) for selected image. In case Par1, Par2 are defined,
able to select those parameters by clicking its buttons.
User can adjust three parameters as below according to selected parameters.
Glandular is the parameter to emphasize the mammary layer on image which can
adjust the details of parenchyma.
Latitude Step: As the value gets higher, the lower part of the image is highlighted
and the image gets thicker. It shows more realistic image for the two-dimensional
image.
Opt Level improves part of background noise and adjusts the difference tween outer

skin and inner structure on the image.
Changed parameter will apply and display the image after clicking Process button.
Click Save Par. button to keep the changed parameter for selected view position, and
click Init Par. button to restore original parameter value.
process It executes image processing.

Save Par. The modified Edge enhance, Contrast factor and Image latitude of the
parameters for image processing are saved.
The saved parameters will process the same study part.
Init Par. You can initialize to the original values of parameters.
Save Par.File You can save LUT files, PAR files, and their routes for image processing.
For selected study part, it is processed by the saved route.
Cancel You can go back to raw image that is
is not processed. In other words,
when displaying image data acquired from
the detector, the part shown by the shutter
is displayed as raw data if the shutter exists
in the review mode.

5.6.3. TOOLS ICON

Under the Review mode, you can edit images with Tools icon when the image is
displayed on the screen
Displays 4 images by dividing the screen 2x2.

Able to see RCC, LCC, RMLO, LMLO images at the same time.
Displays 2 images on the left and right by dividing the screen 2x1.
Able to see RCC – LCC or RMLO – LMLO image.
The operator can select how to split. Basically 1 X 1 , 1X2, 2X3

are included. If you select “Custom”, you can input the layout as you want.
Initializes the image (cancelling ROI rectangle and processing).
It can magnify/make smaller any screen area. If you move the mouse to
the left upper side, pushing the Shift key, the screen will get smaller.
Moving to the right upper side makes it larger.
If you move to the upper side, pushing the control key, the image
magnification ratio will get smaller. Moving to the lower side makes it
larger.
If you put your mouse pointer on the image and left click, you can zoom
out by moving to the upper side and zoom in by moving to the lower
side

If you put your mouse pointer on the image and left click, you can move
the image as the mouse pointer moves.
Changing the Window width/level initializes to the original value of

acquired image
It selects the area to store in the rectangle. The outside of the area gets
removed.
This is a function to manually adjust the left and right nipples with the
Nipple adjustment function.
It prints the image selected with DICOM printer.(Only DICOM printer)

Clicking the icon shows the below preview.
It fits the image to the screen size
It saves the present image.
It saves and sends the present images.
Here 4 modes are supported.

① Save an image: It saves the present image.
② Save and send an image :
It saves and sends the present image.
③ Save an image and send all images :
It saves the present images and sends all images
displayed in the thumbnail
Only send images: It sends all images displayed in the thumbnail without
storage..
In examination mode, it cancels to use images (not save images) and gets
ready for another.

In the Review mode, it displays the review screen.

Reject function does not use the image without deletion and the image
is displayed with “Reject” message.
It changes right and left.
It changes up and down.
It rotates the image 90° counter clockwise.
It rotates the image 90° clockwise.
5.6.4. TOOLS ICON in Review mode
Default mode mouse.

Measures the angle tween two points.
Invert(Pixel gray value).

5.6.5. Marker, Label, Text
Marker is a button to show/hide view position such as RCC, LCC.

Click Marker button to display the marker when it is not displayed on the image.
Label, Text : You can input the annotations on the screen.
If you want to make a new mark, push + button.

Checking Insert mark and pushing OK button just adds to the MARK list. But, if you
do the above process with Insert mark unchecked, it adds to the list and also shows
the mark in the image part.
“SELECT” button shows the mark of the list on the screen.
The following two photos are for adding Text and the process is the same as MARK.

5.6.6. TOOLS Menu

Under the Review mode, you can use below functions by clicking the TOOLS button.
Image Open:
You can watch DICOM files from outside, not DICOM files stored in Feel-DRCS .
You can use basic functions like watching images and window width/level.
Length Calibration:
This is for setting pixel spacing value of the detector at one’s discretion.
- After x-raying, measure the pixel spacing value to compare with the real value and
then input the real number. This is the calibration for the real distance when the real
distance is different from that of the image taken.
1. Select Menu-Tool-Length calibration.
2. Check the distance on the image or the real distance and draw the line as long as
the distance.
3. The screen as below will appear if you finish measuring the distance.

4. Measure displays the measured distance on the image.

5. Put the real distance in “Real”(Unit: mm).
6. Pixel Spacing value computed in Stand (selected Bucky) is displayed.
7. Reset disregards computed pixel spacing value and calls pixel spacing value (original
value when installed) saved in Aceview.ini file to display.
8. Save saves the present pixel spacing value and closes the screen.
9. “Cancel” cancels the present work and closes the screen.
Note
It is very useful to do this measurement when installing first. Generally, the engineers do length
calibration in installing

6. Configuration
CONFIG for system configuration will be activated when Feel-DRCS is login with
SUPERVISOR. Normal user will not be able to see CONFIG.
This is for setting the whole system.
You can set various networking services, system, and data format
6.1. Default Setting

It sets the user list, hospital name, and date.
6.1.1. Operator List

You can create the operator list.
 Add: Adds new operators. Input the name of the new operator at the bottom
of the window and then click “Add”.
 Modify: Changes the selected operator information.
 Delete: Deletes the selected operator.
 Delete All : Deletes all registered operators.

6.1.2. Data Format
You can select the date format.
6.1.3. Modality
You can select equipment to connect.

- Stand : Stand only type
- Table : Table only type
- Full : Stand + Table type.
6.1.4. Hospital Info
You can input the hospital name.
6.2. Storage Setting

You can select image storage route and backup route, and set the automatic deletion
function.

6.2.1. Image Save Path

You can select the route to save images. Here storage route means the path for saving
processed images as well as raw images acquired from the detector.
6.2.2. Dicom Save Option

- You can select the type of the modality when saving images in DICOM format.
- You can select the bit number of the image..
6.2.3. Image Auto Delete

You can select whether you use the automatic image deletion function or not and
conditions.
Delete by Space: Deletes if the space is less than the set percentage.
Delete by Date: Deletes older images than the selected date from x-ray day.
Note
If the disk is full, you can not x-ray and save images. Therefore, we recommend the partial
setting. Once set, it deletes automatically so that you need to manage backup schedule in
advance.
6.2.4. Database
It provides functions for managing database.
- Compress : compress database.
- Backup : Backup database.
- Restore : Restore database..
6.3. Annotation Management

You can select the information to display on the image.

You can set the settings for annotation on the screen or on the print.
Display : Contents of the annotation displayed on the screen of the Review

and Filming Window
Print(Image) : Settings for annotation when outputting to be visible above the
image.
Print(title) : Setting for annotation when printing, when outputting so that it is
only visible to the title at the top of the film, not above the
image.

Reset : Return to default setting value.

Copy : When you want to use same DICOM Print setting annotation.
From(print(images))
The left side is a list of annotations that are currently set and not shown, and the top
and bottom right sides are marked with annotation information shown in the current
image.
You can delete or add using the arrow left or right buttons.
The up and down buttons can move the selected annotation positions up and down at
the top and bottom right.

Left Black window : Pre view by setting annotation

On the right side, you can choose whether to set the display name / font thickness /
value for the annotation selected above, if there is no value, to display it as empty or
zero.
6.4. Worklist Item Management

You can select the item to display in the worklist.
Select the item to add from the Worklist All Item and push “>” button. For changing
the sequence, use the up and down buttons.

6.5. DICOM MWL(Modality Worklist Server Setting )

You can set the server’s environment and client’s environment for using DICOM
Modality Worklist service.
Server You can set the server’s environment, providing DICOM Modality
Worklist service.

Test You can check the server works normally.

6.6. DICOM Storage

This is to set the server’s environments for DICOM transmission.
List ① Name : Displays the server name. The same name as Server AE will be
displayed.
② Server AE : Displays the server’s AE title.

6.7. DICOM Print

You can set the server’s environment for DICOM Print
List  Name : Displays the laser printer name. The same name as
Server AE will be displayed.
 Laser Imager AE : Displays the laser printer’s AE title.
 Laser Imager IP : Displays the laser printer IP.
 Laser Imager Port : Display the laser printer port.
 Host AE : Displays host’s AE title
 Print Model : Displays the print model.
Insert You can add new printer’s setting.
Delete You can delete the setting of the printer selected.

Modify You can change the setting of the printer selected.

Print Setting You can set the film and printer.
 Medium Type : Selects the type of film.

Overlay You can choose the information to be displayed with images on
