IMPACT OF SUSTAINABILITY ISSUES, CHALLENGES & TRENDS (COMPULSORY)

For both Assessments 1 and 2, it is mandatory for students to identify key sustainability issues,
challenges and trends arising from the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and COP26:
UN Climate Change Conference UK 2021 in Glasgow, in relation with the chosen company, its
domestic / home market, and, the selected geographic market(s).

The impact analysis of these key sustainability issues, challenges and trends must be discussed in
detail in assessing the macro business and operating environment (Political, Economic, Socio-
cultural, Technological, Environmental and Legal factors), and, the micro environment (internal,
customer markets, competition, marketing mix and supply chain factors).

Students will need to make an assessment on how these sustainability issues, challenges and
trends will impact the chosen company, its domestic / home market, selected geographic market(s),
macroenvironment, competitive, customer/market and internal environments.  These must
be analysed and discussed in detail, specific to the chosen company and its business and operating
environments.  Thereafter these analyses must be distilled into the recommendations on the chosen
company’s competitive advantage, target market segmentation, positioning and differentiation,
marketing strategy and marketing mix.

These will need to be substantiated with official and academic sources and references.

Failure to do so or the omission to take this into account will result in a “Fail” grade being awarded.
