"What would you be if you were?

"
What would you be, beyond any limits, barriers and prejudices? What would
you be for the rest of your life, if you could? Would you be a Black Cat? A
dessert? A book? A Sweet & Salty memory? What would you be if you were? A
Perfect Journey? A breeze? A butterfly? A dream?

Well, I would be one word - MOTHER - because that word makes a thousand
words. It's the most expensive word in the world, the easiest to understand, and
sometimes it's so hard for us to understand. The most beautiful and complex.

MOTHER, because mother means kindness, tenderness, love, smile,

forgiveness, hugs, cheeks wet with tears. It means generosity, wise words, good
thoughts, patience, protection and relief. It means perseverance, understanding,
affection, sacrifices, life. Beauty and femininity. Elegance and style.
MOTHER means sleepless nights, reading stories in the evening, rocking, the
indispensable "I love you" before bed, protective arms when you feel helpless, a
perfect storyteller whenever needed. He's my favorite hero of all I know!

Because the mother is unique and no one will ever be able to take her place. He
is the person we turn to when worries and stress overwhelm us, no matter how
old we are. He is our model and guide in life. He is the person who instills in our
souls beautiful feelings and life lessons. It is our oasis of peace, our refuge! She
is the one who pours balm on our souls and bandages our wounds, passing over
anything more easily.

He is the person who welcomes us back with open arms, even after we have
spoken out and slammed the door behind us!
Every crease, every wrinkle on her face tells a story about us, happy or sad. A
word thrown at the nerves, a moment of rebellion, disobedience, stubbornness
or, on the contrary, an unexpected victory, a sincere thank you, support and
mutual trust.

My mother is also the one who still pampers us like children, every year, with
Easter and drob, our favorite childhood cakes and a huge cup of hot chocolate or
coffee, because she knows how lazy we can be sometimes. We then rest our
heads on her knees and caress our hair without saying anything. Words are
superfluous in those moments.

If I could, I would stop time for you, dear mother, to have the opportunity to
reward you for everything. To give you the opportunity to be free again, to enjoy
life, to let me pamper you now. To stay with me, to try to stretch the memories
with you, to sip every word, every advice, every good thought.
Let me share with you my dreams and my plans for the future.

Dear memories of the past now come to my mind and make me smile sadly,
being aware of the passage of time: colorful books with clowns and other
cartoon characters that my mother helped me finish, learning the different
techniques of decorating eggs, the indispensable scarf my mother's white silk
that completed my outfit, the first geranium planted with my mother, the first
failure cake made for my mother, the button collection…

I would be a word to express all my gratitude and appreciation for the dearest
being on earth, mother! I would be a word full of meaning and emotion - an
amalgam of feelings!
