THE NATION’S TALK

Jazz: Good afternoon, everyone! Welcome to another episode of ‘The Nation’s Talk with me,
Jazz…
Zarlen: …And I am Zarlen.
Jazz: Yes, yes, yes!
So, I assume na ready na
ang ating mga presidential candidates. Simulan po natin sa pagpapakilala.
Dorina: Good day, everyone. I am Dorina Baita. Please always remember na kayo ang pipiliin
ko palagi at kakampi niyo ako. Thank you.
Cyrel Magandang hapon. I am Cyrel Delos Santos. Magkapit kamay tayo para sa kaunlaran.
Zarlen: Thank you so much po.
audience.
Zhaijhone (media): Hello po. This question po is for the both of you. I have heard a lot of things
about po sa traffic management, sa pangkabuhayan, and ibang aspects. But I would like to ask,
what are your plans po with regards sa mga bata o mga tao na may disability?
Dorina: Thank you. With that, pwds should be afforded equal access to the basic services may
it be sa health, sa education. In able to assure din the total integration nila into the mainstream
of our society.Yung equal access na yon ang magpoprovide for their rehabilitation, self-
development at self-reliance.
Cyrel: I would like to give emphasis sa educational system for them. In able to help them to
develop holistically. Una, to promote the full growth of the faculties of every child. I would like to
provide for them yung conducive environment and safe at the same time. And also, sa part ng
mga educators, we can establish a training program para mas ma-guide sila sa paghahandle ng
mga bata na may special needs.
Jazz: Thank you so much sa presidential candidates at sa ating media na nagraise ng question.
Now, there is another one who likes to ask po.
Rya: Good day po. This is very timely and sensitive topic at the same time. But given the
situation, how would you take care yung mental health po ng mga bata na may disability?
Dorina: First of all, we should recognize them first before their disability. Secondly, we have to
make sure that they are safe against any abuse, exploitation and discrimination. We can provide
penalties for those people na mangdi-discriminate at mang aabuso sa kanila.
Cyrel: Regarding their mental health, I want to focus also on their emotional state lalo na
habang nag aaral sila, I want to make sure na they will be understood and be given sympathy,
especially those na emotionally disturbed. They should be given the right care regarding their
condition. We can provide special classes to cater their individual needs.
Dorina: There are already laws regarding the rights of PWDs. The Republic Act 10336 which is
Magna Carta for Disabled Persons.
For example, ramps ang handrails.
