Endoscopy Unit • Surgeon must first arranged with Endoscopy Head that we need to borrow a Flexible Gastroscope. • Call Endoscopy Desk to prepare the items needed. Ext. # 1224/12221 • Send Nurse to Endoscopy Unit with the Checklist. • Verify the checklist with Endoscopy team. Signed by both the Endoscopy and OR nurse. • Send the Flexible Gastroscope to the CSSD Endoscopy
Unit as soon as the case is done. • Cover the Flexible Gastroscope container with a yellow bag (Bio Hazard Bag) • Take one Patient Identification Sticker with the Gastroscope set. • Call the Endoscopy Unit to inform them that you are sending the scope back. Ext. # 12221 / 12224 • Call CSSD Endoscopy Ext. # 11786 / 17610 • DO NOT LEAVE CSSD/ Endoscopy Unit until the Gastroscope is flushed and cleared from the CSSD technician. • Completed Checklist – Kept in OR 11 Cart ( Black Folder – Labelled Flexible Gastroscope Checklist )
