RULES AND REGULATIONS

LUKSONG
TINIK
Luksong Tinik is a native Filipino game. It

requires at least three players to be

properly played and it is played by

teams.

Two players must perform the task of

being the wall of thorns over which the

other players will jump. These two people

will sit on their behinds and first extend

their legs out, then later their hands to

form a barrier that increases in height

with each round.

LUKSONG
TINIK
The rest of the players must jump over the

extended legs and hands without touching

any part of the two sitting player’s hands

and legs.

However, our version of Luksong tinik, instead

of using both hands and legs as an obstacle

we will be using a stick which will be held by

two players. The game is played individually

in a sense that the “It” is substituted

everytime each player touches the stick

when the player jumps over the obstacle.

OBJECTIVE OF THE
GAME
1. To achieve a "Safe" by finishing the two rounds in

succession

2. To avoid being the “It/Game post”

3. To jump over the stick without hitting with any part of

the body or clothing or falling over it

4. To enhance cooperation, mobility and bond between

the players

5. To come up with strategies that would aid in

effectively jumping over the stick

MECHANICS OF THE GAME
The objective of the game is for all players to jump over the height of the

stick held by the game post or the “It”. A player must avoid hitting the

stick with any part of his body or clothing. The first ones to play is

decided by "humpyang makulob mahayang", the last two players will be

the game post or the “It” and will have to hold the stick. Then, the “It” will

have to play “rock paper scissors” to decide who will play next if a player

fails in making a successful jump.

● Two players will serve as the game post or “It” as
they stand opposite each other and hold each end
of the stick just on their ankle.

● Then, each of the player starts jumping over the

stick without hitting it as it is gradually held higher
MECHANICS by the game post starting from their ankle up to
their hips.

OF THE ● Once a player fails to go over a particular level,

he/she will not be allowed to jump on the next level
GAME and only the players who successfully jump the level
moves on the next. Then, the player who failed to
make a successful jump will be replaced by the “It”
who wins the “rock paper scissors” and the game
will continue where it ended. The process continues
up to the highest of the first round of the game.
● If the players successfully jump over the stick up
to the hips, they will proceed to the next round of
the game. In this round, the game will have a new
objective: to jump over the stick and land with their
foot, until they start in the next level. This will
MECHANICS continue up to the highest level in this round.

OF THE ● The game will end after the highest jump (in the
last round). The player who successfully jump over
the highest level of the last round will be the winner
GAME and the player who fails will have to go through
under the legs of the winner.

The game can also end if there is a time limit. The

player who manages to jump over the stick in the
