1. Describe very concisely the form of government that prevails in the country. Do you
think this government is effective in terms of economic, social and political stability?
Support your arguments.

The form of government that prevails in our country is a democratic form of

government. It is a form of government in which the entire population or eligible
members of the country can vote directly on issues or send someone they choose to
make those decisions for them. When it comes to economic, social and political
stability, I think it is not that effective because the citizens have their own opinions and
wants for their country. I also think that democracy is ineffective unless voters
educate themselves on governing decisions.

2. Do you think the government was wrong when the Congress denied the application
of ABS CBN to renew the franchise to operate broadcasting? Why? Support your
answer.

For me, the government was not wrong when the Congress denied the
application of ABS CBN to renew their franchise to operate because the franchise
committed a lot of violations. Violations such as, the possible violation of the
constitutional limits on foreign ownership; reported labor, and tax violations; and other
violations of the terms of its legislative franchise are allegedly committed by the
broadcasting network. The committee also declined to make a decision on the network's
alleged biased reporting, political meddling, or the content of its programs. It did, however,
advise ABS-CBN to conduct a thorough investigation into the source of all the "consistent
complaints" about biased reporting, inappropriate program content, and political meddling.
