Paraphrasing: In 2016, Rodrigo Durterte has declared a war on drugs, because it


was the result of extrajudicial deaths. Official records from the Philippine Drug
Enforcement Agency give the number of deaths from July 2016 to November
2018 from the anti-drug campaign as 5,050. Human rights groups have put the
number of killings at 20,000, including vigilante-style killings. The United States
refuse to give Overseas Development Assistance or ODA to poverty in the
Philippines after declaring concern over Duterte’s war on drugs.

Summarizing: With a large amount of drug addiction, drug dealers, and


extrajudicial deaths/killings among all the countries in East Asia, the Philippines
had the highest rate of methamphetamine abuse. Duterte to act proactively and
address the issue of drugs in a non-constructive way with widespread violations of
human rights.
