What Is NVIDIA Omniverse?

Previously, building 3D models required multiple people exporting and importing data sets, scene files,
and other assets. Not only was this time-consuming, but it also made it almost impossible for remote
teams to work together on 3D projects. Using Omniverse, 3D designers have the capability for reading,
writing, editing, and rapidly previewing 3D models seamlessly.

ADOBE AFTER EFFECT

 Adobe After Effects is a digital visual effects, motion graphics, and compositing application
developed by Adobe Systems and used in the post-production process of film making, video
games and television production. Among other things, After Effects can be used for keying,
tracking, compositing, and animation.

 NVIDIA and Lockheed Martin are partnering to build an advanced AI and digital twin-
enabled fire response system to improve fire prediction and suppression efforts. In
Omniverse, Lockheed fire science experts build a physically accurate digital twin of
wildfire-prone geography, then test their AI model, trained on real-world wildfire data.

INDUSTRIAL POWER PLANT SIMULATION

 Siemens Energy is leveraging Omniverse to develop a new workflow to reduce the


frequency of planned shutdowns while maintaining safety. Real-time data — water inlet
temperature, pressure, pH, gas turbine power, and temperature — is preprocessed to
compute pressure, temperature, and velocity of both water and steam.

TWIN EARTH VISUALIZATION

 Creating a “Digital Twin” of the Earth using technologies like the NVIDIA
Omniverse Kitware ParaView Connector allows scientists to interactively analyze
hundreds of terabytes of weather and climate data in 3D by combining information from
multiple sources, scientists can simultaneously explore “what if” scenarios with various
collaborators working across different high-performance computing systems.

 Project Tokkio is an AI-powered talking kiosk reference application that


leverages NVIDIA Metropolis vision AI and NVIDIA Riva speech AI technology to
communicate with customers. It uses NVIDIA NeMo Megatron-Turing 530B, a state-of-
the-art language model for understanding intent and NVIDIA Merlin  to make meaningful

recommendations. The 3D avatar is animated and visualized with Omniverse to deliver a


visually stunning customer service experience—all in real-time.

NATURAL, EXPERT Q & A ASSISTANT

 This shows a photorealistic, life-like autonomous toy avatar that responds to challenging
domain-specific questions. The avatar, made in Omniverse, is a reference application
that leverages NVIDIA Riva for speech AI, NVIDIA NeMo Megatron-Turing 530B for
state-of-the-art natural language understanding, and a combination of NVIDIA
Omniverse animation systems for facial and body animation based on an audio source.

PROJECT MAXIME

 Collaboration with global audiences can be dramatically improved when speaking in their
language. NVIDIA Maxine integrates NVIDIA Riva’s real-time translation and text-to-
speech with “live portrait” photo animation and eye contact in real time to enable better
communication and understanding.

DRIVE CONCIERGE

 Omniverse Avatar enables DRIVE Concierge to serve as everyone’s digital assistant,


helping them make recommendations, book reservations, make phone calls and provide
alerts. It’s personalized to each driver and passenger, giving every vehicle occupant
their own personal concierge. Passengers will be able to have a natural conversation
with the vehicle and use voice to control many functions that previously required physical
controls or touch screens.
