ADAPTIVE LESSON PLAN

IN

GRADE 3
FIRST QUARTER

CLASS OVERVIEW

Grade 3 – Jolliness learners consists of twenty students with ten boys and ten girls. Zoe
has infrequent hearing and has difficulty hearing distant sounds. She tends to ask questions from
her classmates from time to time. Zoe can be accommodated through speech reading,
vocabulary, and language instruction.

LEARNING COMPETENCY

The learners must be able to recognize, read and write money in symbols and in words
through PhP 1,000 in pesos and centavos.

At the end of this lesson, the learners must be able to:

 Appreciate the importance of saving money;

 Make life-decision making skills in applying addition and subtraction of whole numbers,
including money, in mathematical problems and real-life situations.

Reading and Writing Money in Symbol and in Words

Concept
There are six paper bills that the Philippines is currently using: 1,000 pesos, 500 pesos,
200 pesos, 100 pesos, 50 pesos and 20 pesos. There are characteristics of the paper bill that
will help us easily identify or recognize its value such as the number markings, person’s face
printed and color. There are also six coins that the the Philippines is currently using: 10
pesos, 5pesos, 1 peso, 25 centavos, 5 centavos and 1 centavo. The coins can easily be
recognized by their marked amount, size, color and images or faces printed on one side of the
coin.

Adaptation
The Grade 3 – Jolliness will utilize effective instructional materials such as visual aids
and printed words for the learner with difficulty in hearing. On the other hand, Zoe will be seated
in front of her classmates, and the teacher will modulate his voice clearly with much clarity and
voice projection will be implemented. Visual aid will serve as the main tool for communication
and transfer of learning.

METHODOLOGY ADAPTATION

write their answers on a piece of paper.

 The learners will play the game Bring  Zoe will join her classmates in
Me. The learners will be divided into playing the game Bring Me.
groups. Each group will be given a set
of play money. The group should bring
bills and coins with the same value as
the amount that the teacher will say.
The first group who can give the correct
set of bills and coins gets a point. The
group that gets the most points wins the
game.
