HALF-LIFE: Following oral administration, rosuvastatin and its metabolites are primarily
excreted in the feces (90%). The elimination half-life (t1/2) of rosuvastatin is approximately 19
hours. After an intravenous dose, approximately 28% of total body clearance was via the renal
route, and 72% by the hepatic route.
• In 19 hours, half of the 20mg (10mg) would be in the body.
• In 38 hours, half of the 10mg (5mg) would be in the body.
• In 57 hours, half of the 5mg (2.5mg) would be in the body.
• In 76 hours, half of the 2.5mg (1.25mg) would be in the body.
• In 95 hours, half of the 1.25mg (0.63mg) would be in the body.
• In 114 hours, half of the 0.63mg (0.32mg) would be in the body.
• In 133 hours, half of the 0.32mg (0.16mg) would be in the body.
• Then, added by another 19 hours (152hours), amount of drug in the body would be
reduced into 0.08mg.
