HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. Huawei Confidential Page 40

SANEX DSS Solution Overview
Distributed Service Analysis Solution
The SDAU board sends the forwarded sig messages to the SDCU board through the TCP/IP connection
The SDCU board combines and decodes sig messages, generates TDRs, and save the TDRs as text files in a local disk
CSS or a 3rd party Billing System obtains these TDR files using (secure) file transfer protocol (FTP/SFTP) for analysis,
such as charging according to the amount of the signaling messages transferred

Redundancy solution
Site1
SDCU SDAU System level (Inter-site redundancy)
DSS1 SPS1 In the view of one SPS, there are two DSS working in
active/standby mode
• the local DSS is active
• the remote DSS is standby
SDCU SDAU If the local DSS is unavailable, the local SDAU board will
Site2
DSS2 SPS2 send traffic to the DSS of the mated SPS for TDR generation

Site1 Board level (intra-site redundancy)

In the view of one SDAU board, there are two SDCU boards
SDCU1-1 SDAU
working in active/standby mode
If the primary link is down (perhaps the SDCU fails), the
SDCU1-2 SDAU secondary link is active and the SDAU will send traffic to the
second SDCU for TDR generation
DSS1 SPS1
Primary
Secondary

TDR-based Troubleshooting
1. Set Query conditions 2. Get TDR list matching the query conditions

3.TDR signaling retrieving 4.2 Bit-to-bit message explanation

4.1 Message flow illustration for the transation

Support both real-time trace and historic trace, support both Diameter and SS7
