CHEMICAL NAME: Avilamycin

Chickens
1. FDA Status: No feed mill license required.
Veterinary feed directive (VFD) drug. VFD expiration date must not exceed 90 days from the
time of issuance. VFDs for Avilamycin shall not be refilled.

LIMITATIONS FOR USE: Federal law limits this drug to use under the professional supervision of a licensed
veterinarian. Animal feed bearing or containing this Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) drug
shall be fed to animals only by or upon a lawful veterinary feed directive issued by a licensed
veterinarian in the course of the veterinarian’s professional practice. Feed continuously as the
sole ration for 21 consecutive days.
CAUTION: To assure responsible antimicrobial drug use in broiler chickens, treatment administration must begin
on or before 18 days of age. The safety of Avilamycin has not been established in chickens
intended for breeding purposes. Avilamycin has not been demonstrated to be effective in
broiler chickens showing clinical signs of necrotic enteritis prior to the start of medication.

sis, the use of Monensin with no withdrawal period may limit feed intake resulting in reduced
weight gains. Monensin must be thoroughly mixed in feed before use. Do not feed Monensin
undiluted.
