The Past Tense with the verb To Be. El tiempo pasado con el verbo To Be.

1.-           I           was        a student of languages. Fui estudiante de idiomas.

               She      was           in the Physics Lab today. Ella estuvo en el Laboratorio de Física hoy.

               We       were        researchers. Éramos investigadores

    Sue and Mike  were        responsible workers. Sue y Mike eran trabajadores responsables.

    Your friend        was          in her flat. Tu amiga estaba en su departamento.

2.- I was not a student of languages.     (wasn´t) No era estudiante de idiomas. (no estaba)

The Simple Past Tense with verbs other than Be. El tiempo pasado simple con verbos que
no sean Be.

PREVIOUS PATTERN => "The Simple Present Tense with verbs other than Be". PATRÓN
ANTERIOR => "El presente simple con verbos que no sean Be".

1.- I work in a large company. Yo trabajo en una gran empresa.

They use the known guidelines. Ellos usan las pautas conocidas.

She applies those new formulas. Ella aplica esas nuevas fórmulas.

2.- I do not work in a large company. Yo no trabajo en una gran empresa.

They do not use the known guidelines. Ellos no utilizan las pautas conocidas.

She does not apply those new formulas. Ella no aplica esas nuevas fórmulas.

3.- Do I work in a large company? ¿Trabajo en una gran empresa?

Do they use the known guidelines? ¿Utilizan las pautas conocidas?

Does she apply those new formulas? ¿Ella aplica esas nuevas fórmulas?

"NEW" PATTERN => "The Simple Past Tense with verbs other than Be". "NUEVO"
PATRÓN => "El pasado simple con verbos que no sean Be".

CLASSIFICATION  OF  VERBS: CLASIFICACIÓN DE VERBOS:

A.- Regular Verbs: Inflected in past by the addition of the suffixes.

She did not apply those new formulas. Ella no aplicó esas nuevas fórmulas.
(Negative Contraction: didn´t). (Contracción negativa: no).
INTERROGATIVE  SENTENCE: ORACIÓN INTERROGATIVA:

Did I work in a large company? ¿Trabajé en una gran empresa?

Did they use the known guidelines? ¿Usaron las pautas conocidas?
Did she apply those new formulas? ¿Ella aplicó esas nuevas fórmulas?
