Ask them to paste the handout in their notebooks before starting the activity.

An: means one and comes before a vowel (a,e,i,o,u) e.g. an iguana, an ant, an
elephant.
The: means many used for plural. E.g. The horses, the dogs, the cats, the ants, the
elephants.
In the exercise, they need to write the correct word: a-an or the. According to their
use.
Development: (A-An-The handout story) Development: Review vocabulary seen in previous lesson by asking the uses of
each.
Give the students a short text where they need to write the correct word in the
spaces.
Read the sentences and write the missing words in the text.
Closure: (“Good-bye” song) They need to choose the missing words from a box containing animal vocabulary.
According to the pictures they need to write the correct name of the animals.
Then, write a, an or the.
