1. Why the Filipino writers were called Ladinos during the Spanish period?
The Filipino writers were called Ladinos during the Spanish period because of their fluency in
both Spanish and Tagalog.
2. What is the difference between a drama and a play?
There are numerous differences between drama and a play. First, the artist who writes the
drama or performs it is called dramatist however play is written by playwrights. Moreover the
play is a dramatic performance on the stage, whereas drama is a literary composition in
the form of prose or verse, that portrays dialogue showing conflict which the main
character attempts to resolve. The most significant difference between these two entities
is that drama refers to a form of a written literature that is intended for performance while
plays refer to a theatrical performance. In layman’s term, a play is to be seen whereas
drama is to be read.
