~ Our Holy Grounds Café is a place for light refreshments, coffee, and
fellowship on the first and third Sundays of the month from 8:30 a.m. -
12 p.m. in our Fellowship Hall.

~ Our Infant and Toddler Nurseries are available every Sunday from
8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. They are located on the lower level of the church and
are staffed with our full-time, professional attendants and parent
volunteers.
~ Children's Church for ages four through third grade is offered at the
11 a.m. service and is guided by a parent volunteer. Children will be
dismissed after the Children's Message. Please pick up your children
from the lower level classrooms of the church following worship.

Women of Faith Conference is September 9-10, 2011 in Philadelphia.
The cost is $89 per ticket, plus hotel. You can sign-up today in

Searching for a Fantastic Way to Spend a Sunday Afternoon? Merry
Martha’s and the Misters are hosting an old-fashioned tea June 5, at
12:15 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Wonderful food, a variety of activities,
and favors to take home. No cost for lunch, but we ask that you bring an
item for a church kitchen shower. A list of needed supplies is available
in the church office or in Fellowship Hall. For food planning, please
make a reservation, by calling Sharmune at 421-3280 by June 2, please
indicate if childcare for small children is needed.

The Eastern PA Annual Conference was held last week. Reports from
various committees were interspersed. A motion was made, and passed
that Annual Conference not vote on any General Conference related
resolution and that these be submitted directly to General Conference.
Therefore, we did not vote on resolutions/petitions related to
homosexuality, which had been proposed for endorsement and
forwarding to the 2012 General Conference. Delegates did vote on
resolutions related to clergy benefits, social issues including immigration
reform and natural gas drilling, and church closures and mergers. Clergy
and lay delegates to the 2012 General Conference were elected. For more

Children’s Ministry - Birth to 6th Grade

Backyard Buddies and Lord’s Army will combine Tuesday, May 31
for a year end Bike or Hike at the McDade Trail and family potluck
picnic at Smithfield Beach. School pickup is available from SMS, SIES
and JM Hill. Hot Dogs will be provided. Bikes can be dropped at the
church. Families can join us for the bike/hike or just come for the picnic
from 6-7 p.m. RSVP with Mrs. Randall. RAIN DATE JUNE 14.

Youth Ministries - 7th - 12th Grades

find permission forms and information on trips and events.
After-school Programs for Jr. & Sr. High are in need of snacks and
drinks. If you would be willing to make a donation, please see Scott.
Sunday School - Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Youth Room. We meet
together until 11:15 a.m. then split into Jr. High and Sr. High classes.
Sunday Night Program meets weekly from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. for
youth and their friends in 7th -12th grades. Tonight's schedule:
6:30 p.m. Fellowship Time in the Youth Room;
6:50 p.m. Volleyball in the gym, or games in the Youth Room;
7:15 p.m. Worship led by the youth praise band, Youth Room;
7:35 p.m. Prayer requests, state of your faith and message;
8:00 p.m. Small group discussion.
Youth Praise Band, which leads our Sunday night worship, practices
every Tuesday evening. Interested instrumentalists and singers should
contact Scott to participate.
Sr. High Outreach is every Wednesday from 2:45 - 5 p.m. All 9 - th
12th grade students are welcome to participate. After-school pick-up
in church vans is available from Stroudsburg Jr. High School.
Thursday Schedule: All youth are invited to participate in the
following weekly events:
• 2:45 - 5 p.m. - JAM is a time for 6th - 8th grade students. After-
school pick-up in church vans is available from JTL, Stroudsburg
Middle, and Stroudsburg Jr. High Schools. Permission forms are
required and available on the JAM Jr. High outreach page of the
youth website.
• 5 - 6 p.m. - Fellowship Meal for all 6th - 12th grade students. Come
hang out with your friends, meet new people, and share in a meal.
• 6 - 7:30 p.m. - Small Group Bible Studies designed for 7th - 12th
grade students to grow deeper as a disciple of Christ. Groups are
available for Jr. High Girls, Jr. High Boys, and Sr. High.
Summer Trips and Retreats - If you are planning on participating on
a mission trip or attending Creation and have not yet signed up, please
do so ASAP. Youth Summer sign-up cards are available in the Youth
Room or online at www.esumc.net/youth. Return your completed card to
Scott along with a deposit to hold your space.

Homebound and Care Facility members are happy to be remembered

Wellness Ministry Tip - Stop eating when you are full! Don't overeat
for the sake of finishing your plate. If you feel guilty about wasting food,
save it for a snack or another meal!
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your heart and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Humans like to be in control, having the power to choose
exactly what is going to happen and when. Unfortunately, life
isn't like that-we only think in control. So when something
happens and we realize we're not in control, we feel lost, overwhelmed,
angry, and even terrified. Stephen Ministers are trained to help when
things are out of control. They provide support and encouragement while
helping a person put faith and trust in God. To learn more about Stephen

Agency on Aging has a list of agencies and businesses that provide
services such as information on energy and home improvement
programs, transportation assistance, support groups and senior clubs, call

Free Smoking Cessation Program is being offered at Pocono Medical
Center Friday, June 3. Learn more about the benefits of quitting smoking
and PMC's smoking cessation counseling program. RSVP at

Missions
Baby Bottle Boomerang continues through Father's Day, June 19. Please
