ANALYZE: (separate sheet)

1. From your home visit and interview, what do you think is the style of parenting
experienced by the learner? Explain your answer.

From my home visit, I think the Parenting style of the learner is

Authoritative, because their parents know what is good and bad for the learner
and create rules to moderate playing, watching and going out with friends. His
mother is always telling him to prioritize his school activities before other
things. I also sense a loving environment in their home, there are rewards if he
passed, they motivated him if he fails and imposed rules with consequences,
in order to fully learn his lessons. Indeed, they are firm but loving.

2. Relating your data with what you learned from child development what family factors
do you think contribute to the development and over-all adjustment of the learner in
school?

When the learners have a good, supportive and comforting home, the
learners most likely to be good in academics and extra-curricular activities.
They are the ones who are always on top of the class, the leaders, and winners
when there are activities. So, from my data, I can see that the learner is good in
school, eager to join competitions without the fear of losing, not easily upset
upon things because of his supportive parents behind him.

3. Does the communication between the home-school influence the learner? If yes,
what bare these effects?
Yes, the home and school communication influence the learner to study
hard and do his best in order to become successful someday. His mother
always communicates with his adviser on messenger everyday and every
Friday, there are parent’s consultation held at school to maintain good
communication and to create strategies for the better learning of students.

4. How can the teacher partner with the community to contribute to the development
and learning of the students? Who are the people or which institutions can the
teacher tap to seek advice regarding the development and learning and learning of
students?
The teacher and the school coordinated to the barangay leader’s per
zone to build or create a shed that the teachers will visit every middle of the
week (Wednesday) to visit students and have a short consultation regarding to
things they have a hard time doing and give them strategies to easily finish
their module activities and projects. The teachers also help kindergarten-
Grade 3 students in reading and writing in the said station. The quarterly
examination also held per station to let them evaluate if the learners are
learning on the modular-distance learning set-up.

REFLECT: (separate sheet)

1. Reflect on your own development as a child. What type of parenting did you
experience? How did it affect you?
As far as I remember, I have a hard and challenging childhood as a child
of Authoritarian parents. I don’t have a happy childhood because of having a
lot of sickness and my parents don’t want me to have friends, I just need to
stay home and play alone. They are too protective that they killed my happy
childhood experiences. That’s why when I entered elementary, I don’t talk that
much, I’m so passive, I don’t like having friends but still because of that I
concentrated on my studies and I always top in class. Hence, there is also a
positive side of having firm parents so that you will focus on your studies and
avoid being careless and playful.

2. As a future teacher, how would you establish good home-school collaboration? How
can you work well with the parents? How can you help them? How can they help
you?
Being someone who is good in communication skills is the one I really
want to have as personal and professional quality of a great teacher in the
future. So that I can clearly understand what is the language of students, as
students have different language, and it is deep and you need to read between
the lines to further understand what is really inside their minds. As a student, I
knew that learners have split personality. For instance, when they are in
school, they are often cheerful and happy, you can’t see anything wrong
happening in their lives, especially when they are with peers/friends in the
classroom. Sometimes teachers can’t see what is going on in their home,
some locked their self in their room to avoid parent’s probation. Oftentimes,
other teachers see and hear it, but they fail to understand. Indeed, I want to
break that stigma in the future, by having a clear communication with parents,
I can have a collaboration with them in making good and diverse strategies to
connect with the learners need in order to solve their problems in learning and
to meet the needs of the learner’s in both home and school.
